Raid Shadow Legends: Ultimate Deathknight Champion Guide

Ultimate Deathknight (UDK) is a legendary force affinity champion from the undead hordes faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is a strong champion all-round and has a lot of useful implications for different content around raid. Moreover, booking this champion will be important, especially on his A2 and A3 abilities, to reduce the length of cooldowns and improve the skills in general. Although, be aware that at an end game state, the ultimate deathknight will mainly just be used for soloing dragon 25 and ice golem 25. We will provide a guide on the optimal setups to use for soloing these dungeons later in this guide.

Ultimate Deathknight Late Game+ Guide

Ultimate Deathknight (UDK) is one of the most beloved champions thanks to his representation in the media, the jokes and interactions he had had with the community. He rose up from humble beginnings as a common to a legendary rank. At the same time he is one of the most versatile champions in the game and can be tailored for nearly all content.

The improved version of the friendly Ultimate Deathknight was a free login champion in 2022 and this guide will feature him in almost every area of the game from Arena to solo dungeons. He is a DEF based champion making him tanky and his damage scales with Defense.

Skills

His A1 has Provoke that allows him to utilise this skill in Arena, Hydra and dungeons. A2 provides an AOE Atk Down debuff that can be good in dungeons and in Hydra as well as conditional fear vs Legendary champions. A3 provides shield based on UDK’s DEF and continuous heal buffs.

However, it’s his two passives that make UDK an exceptional champion. Don’t Need ‘Em will give him enough stats from dead allies to solo dungeons and Too Awesome To Die will protect your team from the best single target nukers in the arena such as Rotos and Mortu. His passive not only transfers damage from single target attacks, but all debuffs, so Siphi’s irresistable sleep on A1 would be transferred to him.

UDK can work without books if you’re on a budget. However, if you’re utilising his active skills it’s not a bad idea to book him and especially A3 in general.

Masteries

If the main focus of your build is Arena, the utility of UDK will be in protecting your champions from single target damage and debuffs, Bulwark will be the main T6 mastery we’re aiming for. Support tree can provide some extra Accuracy and stats to help land the debuffs. The rest of the masteries are focused on providing extra survivability.

Gear & Stats Build

For UDK the best in slot set for Arena at the moment is a full 6-piece Stone Skin set. We want him to be as slow as possible so the buff doesn’t run out. If you don’t have it an immunity-type set or just extremely high Resistance and DEF pieces can also be acceptable for Arena.

UDK can further be built in 2 different ways: either with high Defense to increase the shields he puts up or with Resistance to have an extra guarantee that the Stone Skin won’t be removed. What you’re looking for is a build that’s as robust as possible with as much HP and DEF as possible.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves: DEF%/HP%
  • Chest: DEF%/HP%
  • Boots: HP%/DEF%
  • Ring: DEF/HP
  • Amulet: DEF/HP with ACC/RESIST substat
  • Banner: DEF/HP/RESIST

UDK in Platinum Arena

If you have champions that put skills on cooldown such as Warlord, Yumeko or even Basher you can lock AOE skills from enemy champions like Candraphon and Trunda and make them harmless with UDK in your team. Most of the teams in Platinum have champions in stone skin and other CC effects are not as reliable. Madame can be replaced by Ramantu or even Rian depending on the team you are facing. Moreover, the nuker can be replaced with Leorius.

When facing teams with Hegemons or Tormins you can replace the CC with a cleanser. In the team composition below, Cardiel is used but can be replaced by Riho or Mithrala. The hard teams to beat are the ones with Kymar since you can’t always go first. To deal with those teams Jingwon he is a great asset, because he can ensure you will get a turn by removing the sleep CC and replacing it with Block debuffs. As you can see, several variations and compositions can be built surrounding UDK giving your team a huge edge allowing your weaker champions to take no damage.

If you’re looking to counter UDK on Arena Defense, Ramantu is the weapon of choice with Block Passive Skills.

Team Build

  1. Trunda – AOE nuke
  2. Serris – Buff strip and AOE DEF Down
  3. UDK – protection of your team
  4. Flexible slot

Ultimate Deathknight Solo Dungeons Runs

Ultimate Deathknight is able to solo dungeons if your gear and masteries are up to the challenge. You get extra stats from Don’t Need ‘Em passive due to the dead food that you’ll be bringing with you. However, the masteries are going to be different from the Arena focused UDK as your main goal will not be the survival and protection of your team but dealing damage to the waves and to the boss.

Masteries

The main goal will be to get as many DPS and Accuracy mastery nodes and T6 Warmaster. While the Toxic set does not require Accuracy to land the Poisons, other UDK debuffs do require it. Atk Down in particular can ensure that the runs are safe and stable. For solo runs legendary champions additionally benefit greatly from Brimstone awakening that can increase the speed significantly.

Gear & Stats Build for Dragon Solos

Dragon solo with Ultimate Deathknight is easier than ever. Accuracy required depends on the dungeon level you are facing. Around 225 is sufficient for 20-25. Approximately 210 speed and as much HP and DEF as possible should be the goal. The solo UDK for dungeons requires a Toxic set specially for Dragon because you have to kill it quickly enough until Scorch ability deals too much damage for him to survive. Additionally, this greatly increases the speed of the farming.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves: DEF%/HP%
  • Chest: DEF%/HP%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: DEF/HP
  • Amulet: DEF/HP with ACC/RESIST substat
  • Banner: DEF/HP/RESIST/ACC

Gear & Stats Build for Ice Golem Solos

Ice Golem solo with Ultimate Deathknight is a possibility. Accuracy and Resistance required depends on the dungeon level you are facing. Around 225 is sufficient for 20-25. Approximately 210 speed and as much HP and DEF as possible should be the goal.

The solo UDK for dungeons benefits from a Toxic set on Ice Golem as the Poisons greatly increase the speed of the farming and the damage from this source doesn’t trigger retaliation from the boss on HP thresholds.
