Pythion Late Game Guide

Pythion is a legendary support champion that was added to the game in a Fusion Event on January 2023. Python is a strong and universally useful champion for any player in PvE and PvP. In this guide, we will look at a budget build that an average late game player can build and showcase Pythion. The build itself is focused on difficult PVE content like Hydra and Doom Tower. The follow up pages will feature Pythion with a PVP build.

Skills

His A1 attacks the enemy twice and heals an ally with the lowest HP. Pythion’s A2 cleanses all debuffs from allies, heals them and places Block Debuffs on them. His A3 revives all dead allies and places Strengthen buff on them. He also boasts a useful passive skill that reduces the incoming damage for each buff on allies by 5% and stacks up to 25%. He also has a useful aura that increase Resistance of the team by 60.

As you can see, Pythion has no active debuffs, and his utility is focused on healing, cleansing and resurrecting. You can use him without any books and he will still be effective. Booking his cooldown skills on A3 and A2 helps but may not be required if you want to use him on a budget.

It is especially important that the passive will work on any affinity of attackers. It’s drawback is that the enemies need to actively target Drexthar. This can be used to your advantage on Spirit affinity enemies, especially in Spider Dungeon and Nether Spider in Doom Tower in the late game.

Masteries

The best choice for a high Resistance universal Pythion build would be Unshakeable T6 from the Defense tree and Defiant to focus on maximising this stat. Masteries that increase the survivability and reduce incoming damage will also come in handy. The second branch selected is the Support tree with Lay on Hands that increases the healing. Rapid Response and Cycle of Magic will help Pythion take turns and use skills more often. Lasting Gifts can also be helpful.

Pythion can be used in your Clan Boss team to protect your champions from debuffs, making the team affinity friendly. If that’s the case, you shoud pick Warmaster T6 in Offence tree instead and avoid TM increasing masteries in order to keep the speed tune.

Gear & Stats Build

Pythion’s effectiveness is not tied to a specific artifact set. You have a wide variety of viable sets as long as you reach the right stats for PVE. For PVP environment depending on the league you’re aiming for it may be a different story as covered in the follow up sections.

Regeneration, Relentless and Reflex may be the best choice of the main sets. Secondary sets can be anything that provides the missing stats. High Resistance and Speed are our main goal. HP with DEF are secondary, while attacking stats are of not interest to us if we are not using Pythion on Clan Boss.

In this guide, we are using a budget option that consists of a set of Speed and Immortal, focusing on the necessary stats. This build is utilised on Hydra Hard difficulty, requiring at least 310-350 resistance and 220+ speed.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves – HP%/DEF%
  • Chest – RES
  • Boots – Speed
  • Ring – DEF/HP
  • Amulet – DEF/HP
  • Banner – RES

Refresh Accessories are an excellent option for Pythion in PVE.

Pythion Late Game Dungeon Runs

Hydra

In order to fight the Hydra succesfully, it is necessary to distribute roles and have the necessary buffs and debuffs. In the showcased team, Pythion plays the few roles:

  1. Healer to replenish the health of allies and keep it at a high level.

If you activate the Golem’s passive retaliation skill while he has both minions alive, then without an ATK Decrease debuff he will most likely destroy your team, especially at stages 20+

Spider 20

Spider’s Den dungeon not easy to pass if you don’t have a good team or the right champions. One of the budget tactics is to put one opposing affinity champion on the boss that can survive spiderlings attacks. Pythion is well suited for this task at stage 20 due to Force affinity. Having both debuff cleansing and Block Debuff buff negates lots of damage from spidelings debuffs.

Fire Knight 20

Fire Knight’s Castle dungeon is not the best place for Python. He doesn’t have any useful debuffs that are needed for the boss, although he does have two hits on A1. In general, if you need a good support for healing, removing debuffs and to keep the whole team alive to the boss, where the damage dealers will deal with him Pythion is a good choice.

Iron Twin Fortress

Iron Twins Fortress is a difficult dungeon that can be hard to farm. The boss hits hard especially when his Ironbrand debuffs on allies reach high values. The ability to clear boss’s debuffs such as Decrease ATK and DEF as well as reviving allies makes Pythion a great choice for this content. His passive skill reduces the damage that the team receives as well.

Team Build

  1. Mighty Ukko for Decrease ATK and revive.
  2. Python for healing, cleansing and revive.
  3. Arbiter for tm boost and revive.
  4. Stag Knight for Decrease SPD, ATK and DEF debuffs.
  5. Geomancer for dps.

The main idea of the team is to keep the Geomancer alive while the boss takes damage by attacking our team. Pythion’s main task here is to ensure the survival of the team, and he fulfills it well with the help of other supports.

Eternal Dragon

Thanks to his skills, Pythion is well suited as a support champion for the passage of Eternal Dragon at 120 floor of Doom Tower. The tactics are quite similar to the Iron Twins Fortress featured previously. Our main damage dealer is the Geomancer, and the task of the team is to ensure the survival while the boss smashes itself against your team.

Eternal Dragon

Team Build

The team used for Hard Stage 120 Eternal Dragon is as follows:

  1. Drexthar is the main damage dealer through his AOE HP Burns
  2. Scyl provides support to the team with her constant heals, increase speed, AOE stuns, and emergency revives. Scyl is built with a high enough resistance to resist all the Dragon’s Skill Cooldown affecting abilities so, she can still CC the minions and revive dead allies.
  3. Norog provide passive team damage reduction from the Dragon’s Hard hitting AOE and is a secondary DPS.
  4. Jareg places Decrease Attack debuff on the boss to reduce incoming damage and places a Continuous Heal buff on your team after taking the Dragon’s hard hitting AOE.
  5. Vrask provides additional team healing since the heal from Scyl and Jareg is not enough to sustain the team.

Frost Spider

Agreth Nether Spider is a boss of Doom Tower that likes to apply lots of poisons and gradually kill your team with them. Unsurprisingly, a cleanser like Pythion fits perfectly here. If some ally cannot withstand the onslaught of the poisonous breath of the boss and her spiders ressurection will also come in handy.

The Geomancer tactic shows the fastest clear results, so it applies here as well. The essence of the idea is to place a Heal Reduction debuff on the boss and activate the counterattack of the spiders that will kill the boss while damaging the Geomancer.

Team Build

Here is an example of clearing boss at leve110 Hard difficulty:

  1. Mighty Ukko for Decrease Def debuff and revive.

  3. Maneater for Unkillable buff.
  4. Ma’Shalled for Heal Reduction debuff and dps.
  5. Geomancer for dps.
