Raid Shadow Legends: Ninja Champion Guide

Ninja is a very unique champion in Raid Shadow Legends, to say the least, he is modelled after the famous twitch streamer “Ninja”. This champion was free for anyone who played between July 16th 2021 and October 15th 2021. This is a legendary rated champion with an affinity for Magic, from the Shadowkin Faction. Hailburn is one of Ninja’s strongest skills, a powerful A2 ability that places a HP burn debuff on random targets, if that target is a boss then the burn debuff is active immediately. However, what makes ninja most powerful is his passive effect, which allows him to grow his attack by up to 100% and critical damage by 25%.

Ninja Build Guide for Easy Double Maneater CB Teams

Ninja is a Magic Affinity Legendary Champion from the Shadowkin Faction that every player can obtain for free as part of Raid’s event/collaboration with the streamer Ninja. He can only be obtained until October 2021 and cannot be opened from shards.

Despite the meme and funky looking face Ninja is a really solid champion especially for free. He has a unique mechanic where his skills have dual purposes. They have different functions when used on mobs and on the boss enemies. He has a passive that lets him ramp up his Attack and Crit Damage when attacking an enemy with all three of his skills.

The Clan Boss is where Ninja can unlock his full potential as an incredibly strong single target DPS champion due to the ability to gain max stacks of his passive. However, due to his A1 gaining Turn Meter, he will not work in most unkillable teams and must be tuned differently to work.

Masteries

We will cover Ninja is numerous Clan Boss compositions and Dungeons in this guide. The first CB comp will be the Easy Double Maneater team. For Ninja to work in this comp, his masteries need to be taken into consideration. You must not choose the Counterattack mastery in the Defense tree as it will cause the team to go out of sync from the random A1 counterattacks.

Pick the Offense tree which will be the same across all CB builds. Take the standard Offense CB Masteries in Crit Rate, Crit Damage and all the CB damage increasing masteries on the left down to T6 Warmaster. We want to ignore Life Drinker because we won’t be taking the Counterattack mastery, so we don’t need to heal and will be left with 1% HP throughout the entire fight.

Then take the Support tree, take the basic Accuracy masteries, avoid the TM increasing masteries, Lore of Steel for extra stats, Sniper to increase the chance of placing debuff, and Master Hexer to increase debuff duration.

Gear & Stats Build

Specifically for the Easy Double Maneater, Ninja needs to have extremely low speed to work. He needs to be built with 122 speed. Then, build his accuracy to at least 225 for UNM so he can apply his HP Burn, which is where the bulk of his damage comes from. Then gear him with 100% Crit Rate, and as much Crit Damage and Attack as possible.

The best set for him in this specific comp is a Fury set. Since we are not taking the Life Drinker Mastery, we will always be below 50% HP and gain the benefit of 25% increased damage throughout the entire fight. If you’re unable to build him in Fury, any sets that provide stats such as Cruel, Speed, Perception, or Crit Damage will do.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Chest: ATK %
  • Boots: ATK %
  • Ring: ATK
  • Amulet: Crit Damage

Team Composition & Strategy

This is an example of the Easy Double Maneater team that features Ninja, Brakus and Fayne as the DPS champions. The speed settings used for this team are:

  • 175 Fayne – Provides the Decrease Defense, Weaken, and Poisons.
  • 175 Brakus – Provides Increase Attack and DPS.
  • 122 Ninja – Offer huge amount of DPS.
  • 220 Maneater – Unkillable and Block Debuff buff.
  • 215 Maneater – Unkillable and Block Debuff buff.

This team essentially has the same speeds as a regular Easy Double Maneater team except for Ninja. The manual set up for the team is the same for all 4 champions except Ninja, where you have to use his A1 on his first two turns.

Ninja does the most amount of Damage in the team. Unfortunately, this team will work on all affinity except for Force. The reason is due to Ninja’s interaction with Weak Hits. He will not trigger his increase TM or Decrease CD when he weak hits. This will break his skill rotation and cause the team to go out of sync. Additionally, this team will unfortunately only work on UNM. The same speeds will not work on NM.

However, the Bateater team featured in the next section allows to 1 key all major Clan Bosses with the exception of Force UNM CB, so if you have the champions and the gear it can work well!

Ninja Build Guide for Bateater CB Teams

Another CB comp that Ninja can work in is the classic Bateater team. In a Bateater comp, the Retribution Counterattacks will not affect the speed tune of the team, so he can finally have the standard unkillable Offense and Defense tree masteries.

Masteries

In the Offense tree that will be the same across all builds take the standard Offense CB Masteries in Crit Rate, Crit Damage and all the CB damage increasing masteries on the left down to T6 Warmaster. We want to take Life Drinker now because we will be taking the Counterattack mastery

Then we select the Defense Tree, take the Damage mitigation mastery in Tough Skin, Blastproof, Delayed Death into both T5 counterattack masteries in Retribution and Deterrence. Counterattacks will be quite important to this team as Ninja only has a 60% chance to place Decrease Def on his A1 and he does not use his A1 often enough to keep it up throughout the entire run. Counterattack will increase the uptime of the Decrease Def on the CB.

Gear & Stats Build

For the Bateater team, Ninja needs to have between 221-227 speed. Then, build his Accuracy to at least 225 for UNM so he can apply his HP Burn, which is where the bulk of his damage comes from. Then gear him with 100% Crit Rate, and as much Crit Damage and Attack as possible.

As with any DPS in the Bateater comp, the best set for for this comp is Relentless. If you cannot achieve a good level of stats in a Relentless set, you can opt of other special sets like Reflex or Retaliation. If not, any stat providing sets will work such as Cruel, Perception, Speed, or Crit Damage will work.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Chest: ATK %
  • Boots: ATK % / Speed
  • Ring: ATK
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: ATK/Accuracy

Team Composition & Strategy

These are the speeds used for this Bateater team featuring Ninja as the DPS champion:

Notice that the speeds are on the higher end of the standard Bateater comp. This team has a very simple set up, everyone can simply use their skills on auto except for Pain Keeper. You need to use her A3 on her first turn then the team will be auto from there. You can use the AI preset and set Pain Keeper’s A3 as the opener and immediately start your run on auto.

If you noticed, this team does not have a Weaken Debuff and Ninja’s Dec Def is not consistent enough to have it up on the CB all the time. Hence, the team’s overall damage will be lower than usual. However, Ninja is still capable of dealing a ton of damage (On par or even higher than the other Bateater DPS champions) With good enough gear, this team can easily 1-key UNM, NM, and Brutal with the same setup

Ninja Build Guide for Counterattack CB Teams

If you don’t have the champions to build an Unkillable team and Maneaters still elude you, Ninja is also an amazing DPS option for a standard Counterattack team. His Turn meter increasing A1 WILL affect the speed tune of your team, so you need to keep that in mind when building a team with Ninja.

Masteries

We will select the same Offense tree mastery which will be the same across all builds. Take the standard Offense CB Masteries in Crit Rate, Crit Damage and all the CB damage increasing masteries on the left down to T6 Warmaster. We want to take Life Drinker now because he will be part of a non-unkillable team so he will need to heal back up after taking a hit.

Then we take the Defense Tree, take the Damage mitigation mastery in Tough Skin, Blastproof, Delayed Death, into both T5 counterattack masteries in Retribution and Deterrence. Since it’s a non-unkillable team, we need to take the damage mitigation masteries to improve his survivability.

Ninja Counterattack team comp masteries

Gear & Stats Build

For a non-unkillable CB team, Ninja needs to be built more defensively. Prioritize building Defense on him. He would need at least 2.8k Defense if you have an Increase Defense on him for both AOE attacks, if not at least 4k is recommended. Then you need to give him the specific speed for your team’s speed tune. Once you have those 2 stats covered, build him with enough Accuracy to land his debuff, 225+ for UNM, and damage. So, 100% Crit Rate, and as much Attack and Crit Damage as possible.

Lifesteal or Bloodthirst set is a must if you don’t have a reliable healer or shields in the team for non-unkillable CA teams. You can then pair it with any stat providing sets such as Cruel, Perception, Speed, or Crit Damage to meet the stat requirement and round off the build.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Crit Damage %
  • Chest: Def %
  • Boots: Def %/ATK % / Speed
  • Ring: ATK/Def
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: Def/ATK/Accuracy

Team Composition & Strategy

This is an example of a speed tuned CA team with Ninja that works on UNM and NM. It only contains 4 other epics and Ninja. These are the speeds and champions used for this team:

  • 240 Sepulcher Sentinel – Provides decrease Attack, Increase Def, Block Debuff.
  • 192 Ninja – Offers a huge amount DPS.
  • 175 Geomancer – Provides Weaken, HP Burn, and Damage from Reflect and Giant Slayer Procs.
  • 173 Godseeker Aniri – Extends buffs from Sepulcher so that Increase Def lasts for the entire run and Block Debuff blockss the affinity CB Debuff and Stun.
  • 171 Skullcrusher – Provides Counterattack.

Ninja Dungeon Runs Build Guide

Ninja can work decently in dungeons as well. On enemy waves, he acts primarily as a CC champion with his 100% AOE Freeze and also does a decent amount of damage. Where he truly shines though is against bosses. Long fights with bosses allow him to unlock his true potential by maximizing his Atk and Crit Damage from his passive and allow him to do massive damage.

Booking Ninja is quite necessary if you want to use him to his max potential by reducing the cooldown of his abilities, increase debuff chance, and increasing his damage.

Masteries

Masteries on Ninja will vary depending on how and where you use him, especially for Clan Boss. We will first select the Offense tree which will be the same across all builds. Take the standard Offense CB Masteries in Crit Rate, Crit Damage, all the CB damage increasing masteries on the left down to T6 Warmaster.

For general Dungeon PVE use, the support tree is recommended. Take the basic accuracy masteries, Arcane Celerity for TM boost as he places a ton of debuffs, Lore of Steel for extra stats, Evil Eye for TM control, Sniper to increase the chance of placing debuff, and Master Hexer to increase the debuff duration.

Gear & Stats Build

Gearing Ninja for general PVE use is fairly straight forward. His role is to be a damage dealing CC champion. So, aim for Speed, Accuracy, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Attack. At least 200 speed, 225 accuracy, 100% Crit Rate, 200%+ Crit Damage, 4k+ Attack is recommended.

There are no specific sets for Ninja. You can use any stat increasing like Speed, Perception, Cruel, etc to meet the stat requirement.

  • Chest: ATK %
  • Boots: Speed

Fire Knight 25

Ninja is a very solid champion for Dungeon progression. He offers both DPS to nuke the waves and control with his AOE Freeze. Once you reach the boss, he offers very high DPS to take down the boss. When used on Bosses, his ability becomes exceptionally better at dealing damage. His A2 not only applies HP Burn but immediately procs it, so it deals damage 3 times and procs HP burn 3 times dealing massive damage. His A3 ignores 50% of the Bosses Def AND lowers the CD of A2.

Unfortunately, Ninja is negative affinity to Fire Knight 20 and weak hits impact his skill kits significantly as he doesn’t gain the secondary effects of his skills, increase TM, decrease CD, Freeze, and HP Burn. However, he can be used later in Fire Knight 25 since it is Spirit Affinity. He cycles through his Triple Hit A2 quickly and can help take down the FK shield.

This is an example of a Budget Fire Knight 25 team with Epics and Fusion/Free Legendaries:

  1. Ninja – offers the utility mentioned above.
  2. Stag Knight – Provides AOE Dec Def and Dec Atk.
  3. Arbiter – Provides Increase Attack, Heals, Revives, TM Boost.
  4. Hurndig – As a secondary AOE DPS.
  5. Alure – TM Control against the Fire Knight to constantly keep it’s TM Down.
