Raid Shadow Legends: Lua Champion Guide

Lua is an epic void affinity champion from the dark elves faction in Raid Shadow Legends. She is a heavy hitting champion, capable of potentially nuking a lot of enemy opponents if built correctly. Additionally, she features an impressive A3 ability which decreases turn meter on single targets. As such this makes her good in a number of areas, such as faction wars, fire knight 20 and spider 20. However, Lua’s best use is typically in arena teams, where her A2 (triple hit ability) can nuke enemy teams. In this guide we will provide details on how to build Lua for the Arena and the strategies and tactics to use to ensure success.

Lua End Game Arena Build Guide

Lua can be built as a decent traditional arena nuker. Having triple hit AOE attack on A2 and a skill that ignores Shield and Block Damage buffs on A3 is a powerful option to have and can be viable in high gold arena tiers up to Gold V and Platinum where the teams are generally tanky and can require different strategies to farm.

There is a niche for her against teams that have multiple Rotos champions for example as her multi-hit ability allows her to bypass their passives. She is a typical glass cannon and is usually used in fast speed meta teams.

Masteries

In terms of masteries Lua doesn’t have any debuffs we care about. The decrease turn meter on her A3 requires Accuracy but is not a deal breaker in arena. Due to this, we take the Defense tree as well, since her counter attacks hit hard and she can delete champions with them.

For the offense tree we take standard choices in Crit Rate and Damage nodes, as well as increased damage on max HP and first hits dealing extra damage. The most important part of this build is the choice between Helmsmasher and Flawless Execution for T6. For this build we chose Flawless. Her A2 hits three times, and there are smaller AOE hits, so consistent reliable damage is going to be a better option rather than the proc chance on big Helmsmasher nukes.

For the defensive tree we primarily select the nodes that make her a little bit tankier, since she is a glass cannon and she can easily die. The important part however is the double counter attack masteries. Lua’s a1 hits hard and can kill squishier targets on its own.

Gear & Stats Build

Lua’s unique ability to have a triple hit AoE nuke in her a2 makes her a little bit different in terms of gear to traditional nukers. Although not ideal, her not having 100% crit rate isn’t going to make her not be able to nuke. Her a2 can on average hit for between 20-30k per hit (up to 90k or more for 3 hits) even assuming one of these do not crit, and instead becomes 60k damage – not many champions can survive that in the lower tiers of Arena.

Recommended Stats

  • Crit rate (up to 90%+) 100% crit rate is a bonus but unlike other nukers it doesn’t hurt her as much.
  • Attack = Crit damage (aim for around 5.5k attack and 250+ crit damage).
  • Speed – If you are using her in a traditional speed tuned team (like arbiter > lyssandra > serris > lua) then she will need to be speed tuned to your team, most likely around 230 speed. If you are using a more modern speed team with Crowd Control (CC) then 150-160 should be fine.
  • Accuracy is only useful to decrease turn meter on her a3.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves – Crit Damage
  • Chest – Attk%
  • Boots – SPD for traditional speed teams or ATK% for modern CC speed teams
  • Ring – ATK
  • Amulet – Crit Damage
  • Banner – ATK

Recommended Sets

  • Savage
  • Cruel
  • Sets that grant ATK% / Crit damage

Arena Strategy & Tactics

Lua isn’t a meta champion but does have uses in the current arena meta. Currently, everyone is running reaction accessories and this hurts every nuker a lot, but lua is less impacted since she has smaller hits and its more likely that one of them will go through and crit, as opposed to a Leorius for example that has 1 hit. This is usually dealt with by having CC and making the opposing champions waste their first turn to stop the reaction from triggering, but you may not have all the end game options making Lua a viable choice.

Because of her multiple hits, Lua is also a fantastic counter to rotos, since she won’t proc his 50% passive that negates damage, she will just 100-0 him in 1 ability. This along with being less impacted by reaction gear means that she is still a good and useful nuker in the current arena meta and can stand out compared to others.

Unfortunately however, the main downfall of Lua is that she doesn’t hit as hard as champs like Candraphon or Trunda. She can still wipe most speed teams in 1 turn, however, she will struggle to bring down the slower tankier teams. For example vs Nekhret or Krisk she just isn’t good.

Her a2 makes her a niche but viable choice for arena nuking, especially as a budget option (void epics are a lot easier to obtain than something like Leorius or Teumesia). This also gives her the advantage of no chance of weak hitting. Lua is more than capable of just being your nuker for a speed team in gold 4, however, pushing into gold 5 and platinum, she will become more niche and not the best choice.
