Fastest F2P Woodcutting Training

Below you will see the methods used to gain the fastest experience and 1-99 Woodcutting in f2p.

Normal Trees: levels 1-15

OSRS Logs

Free to play players should start their woodcutting journey by chopping regular trees from level 1 to 15. Each log will provide 25 experience and you will need to cut 97 to reach level 15. Regular trees can be found in a variety of places, including the Grand Exchange, outside of Lumbridge Castle and around Draynor.

Oak Trees: levels 15-30

OSRS Oak Logs

At level 15, players can start to cut Oak Trees, for 37.5 experience per log. Players can expect around 40,000 f2p woodcutting experience every hour with this method. But, it should only take 292 oak logs to reach level 30 where players can move on to the next method.

The best places to chop Oak Trees include the area west of Varrock west bank. In addition to the wooded areas to the west of Lumbridge Castle and Draynor Village.

Willow Trees: levels 30-45

OSRS Willow Logs

Expect up to 45,000 woodcutting exp per hour when chopping willow logs. Each log will reward the player with 67.5 experience. With a total of 714 logs being required to reach level 45.

The best places to chop willow trees is at Draynor Village, adjacent to the bank. Here players can choose between banking and dropping, since the bank is so close. Although there will be aggressive dark wizards in the area if you are low combat.

More trees can be found at Port Sarim, on the east side of the Rusty Anchor Inn, this is free from aggressive NPCs. So, you will not be at risk of being attacked. There is also a close by bank deposit box which can be used.

Maple Trees: levels 45-99

OSRS Maple Logs

When players reach level 45 woodcutting in f2p, they can move to maple trees. Each log chopped here will grant 100 experience. With around 40,000-60,000 free to play woodcutting xp every hour.

The only place maple trees can be chopped in free to play worlds is at the Corsair Cove Resource Area. Therefore, to use this method, players must have completed the Dragon Slayer I quest and have started the Corsair Curse.

Alternative F2p Woodcutting Training

Below are some alternative training methods for f2p players. They may not be the quickest, but provide some alternative benefits, such as profitability.

Yew Logs: levels 60-99

OSRS Yew Logs

When f2p players reach level 60 Woodcutting, they will now be able to cut yew trees. Each log grants 175 experience per log, however, the average time taken to chop each log increases significantly. For this reason, it is recommended to continue chopping willow or maple trees for experience. The time saved can also be used for better money makers.

However, if you do want to use yew logs as your f2p woodcutting training method. Then you will find the best location for these trees is south of edgeville bank. The next best spot is the yew trees behind the Varrock Palace, just east of the bank at the Grand Exchange.
