Fastest F2P Cooking Training

Below you will see the methods used to gain the fastest experience and 1-99 cooking in f2p. It is recommended to prioritise training fishing, then cook the fish you get, for the low levels of your f2p cooking training.

Shrimp: levels 1-20

At level one, shrimp will reward 30 cooking experience each time it is successfully cooked. This gives an average of around 30,000 cooking xp per hour.

If you are fishing the shrimp yourself, the best location for this is in Draynor.

Trout: levels 20-30

From level 20, Trout can be cooked, granting the player 70 experience on each successful cook. This works out to between 70,000 and 80,000 cooking experience per hour.

The best place to fish trout yourself, is in the fly fishing spots at Barbarian Village.

Tuna: levels 30-40

At level 30 cooking, free-to-play players can begin cooking Tuna, for 100 experience each successful cook. Equalling between 100k and 100k cooking exp per hour.

In f2p worlds, Tuna can be fished at Musa Point in Karamja with a harpoon and 35 fishing. The player can also pick up raw tunas from players powerfishing in the area.

Lobster: levels 40-45

At level 40 fishing, Lobsters are unlocked and provide a total of 120 experience per cook. Totalling between 120,000 and 150,000 cooking experience per hour. These can also be caught at Musa Point in Karmaja.

Swordfish: levels 45-99

At level 45, players will unlock the ability to cook swordfish. Although, to avoid losses it may be better to wait until level 50, to reduce the probability of burning the fish.

Every successful cook will grant the player 140 cooking experience. This means it is possible for f2p cooking xp rates of up to 170,000 exp per hour.

Making Jugs of Wine: levels 35/68-99

Making Jugs of Wine is the fastest free to play cooking training method currently available. It is accessible from level 35, however, until level 68 there is a chance of creating a jug of bad wine. A bad jug grants no experience, similar to burning food.

At level 68 it is possible to get experience rates of between 470,000 and 490,000 cooking xp per hour. To make the wines, players combine grapes with jugs of water in the inventory. A total of 62,147 wines are required for 68-99 cooking. This method usually comes at a small cost in terms of gp losses.

Alternative F2p Training Methods

Below are some alternative training methods for f2p players. They may not be the quickest, but provide some alternative benefits.

No Burn Chance

An alternative method of training cooking in f2p is to use only cook food that you can no longer burn. This is viable from levels 50 onwards, where players will use Trout. At level 58 Salmon will be used, level 64 for tuna, 74 for lobster and 86 for swordfish.

It is slower than the traditional method of using the highest tier food available. However, it will save you money, as you will no longer be wasting fish by burning them.

Making Anchovy Pizzas: levels 55-99

Players can add anchovies to plain pizzas as a profitable cooking training method in free to play. On average it is possible to get close to 100k cooking xp per hour. While also making a decent amount of passive profit, as these pizzas are regularly in demand by high-level free to play players.
