1. Fortified Elidinis’ Ward
The fortified Elidinis’ Ward is the best magic shield in OSRS. It provides the highest boost to magic damage of any shield at 5%. In addition to +25 magical attack bonus. The shield itself requires a minimum of level 80 Magic, Defence and Prayer to equip.
How to get the Fortified Elidinis’ Ward ?
The Fortified Ward is created by attaching an Arcane Sigil to a regular Eldinis’ Ward. This process requires level 90 prayer and smithing, along with 10,000 soul runes. Alternatively, players can pay Abbot Langley a fee to combine the two items.

2. Regular Elidinis’ Ward
The Regular or Unfortified Elidinis’ Ward is the weaker variant. Before it has had the Arcane Spirit Shield attached to it. It is significantly cheaper, making it a great budget magic shield. While also being the second best magic off-hand due to its +3% magic damage boost. It requires level 80 magic and defence to equip.

3. Arcane Spirit Shield
The Arcane Spirit Shield requires 75 defence, 70 prayer and 65 magic. It was previously the best in slot magic shield, for a long period of OSRS, before the Elidinis’ Ward was introduced. However, it does not provide any magic damage boost. Making it a relatively weak item overall and definitely not worth the money it costs.
How to get the Arcane Spirit Shield?
The Arcane Spirit Shield can be created by combining an arcane sigil with a blessed spirit shield. This process can be done at an anvil, if the player has 90 prayer and 85 smithing. Alternatively, players can pay a 1,500,000 fee to Abbot Langley in the Edgevill Monastery to combine the sigil.

4. Ancient Wyvern Shield
The Ancient Wyvern Shield is one of the best mage shields in OSRS. Requiring level 70 magic and 75 defence, in addition to partial completion of Dragon Slayer I. This shield also offers defence against dragonfire and icy breath.
How to get the Ancient Wyvern Shield?
The Ancient Wyvern Shield can be obtained by killing ancient wyverns and fossil island wyverns.

5. Mage’s Book
The Mage’s Book is a good entry level magic off-hand as it can be equipped at level 60 magic and is relatively inexpensive. Offering a +15 magical attack bonus and a +15 magical defence bonus. This shield is great to use until you unlock the stats required for the Elidinis’ Ward.
