Raid Shadow Legends: Vogoth Champion Guide

Vogoth is a spirit affinity, epic champion from the undead hordes faction of Raid Shadow Legends. This champion is HP based, built for the purpose of survival, while also getting off a lot of AOE provoke and decrease attack from his A2 ability. His built in heal mechanic and ability to place leech as part of a passive effect makes him amazing for Clan Boss. Although, Vorgoth is best known for his work in Bommal. In this guide we will provide an in-depth analysis of Vogoth in Bommal, Clan Boss and Dungeon raids.

Vogoth Late Game+ Arena Guide

Vogoth is an Epic Spirit Affinity Champion from the Undead Faction. He is incredibly useful in high level Arena as a tank and healer against AOE nukes. He can also be used for PVE against Ice Golem and Doom Tower bosses like Griffin, covered on the following pages.

Booking him is not necessary as the the main role for him is to heal allies from damage with his passive. The passive has some interactions that causes lots of confusion to players. There have been two nerfs to Vogoth passive so far and we explain how it functions in Summer 2021.

Vogoth passive heals all allies by 50% of the damage he takes (heals himself for 25%). The healing only procs from direct damage and not from Poison/Burn effects, Bulwark/Selfless defender masteries or Guardian item set effect. The healing comes after the damage has been taken and not in between multiple hits, so the champions need to be able to survive the the attack before they get healed.

If Vogoth dies he doesn’t heal at all, but if he dies to a multi-hit attack he still heals from all the hits that didn’t kill him. As an example, if Trunda a3 hits him twice and the second hit kills him, he still heals all allies from the damage of the first hit, assuming they survive and are able to get healed after the entire attack.

Masteries

The Defense and Support trees are most suitable for Vogoth. In the Defense tree Improved Parry for 8% less dmg from Critical hits is taken vs Arena nukers. Resurgent is important for a chance to remove Defense Down. Rejuvenation increases self healing and Shadow Heal is nice for self heal when the enemy heals. Delay Death allows Vogoth to sustain the fight better. Cycle of revenge helps him get a turn to heal himself using a set like Immortal and remove debuffs using Cleansing accessories. Bulwark and Selfless defender are the T6 masteries we look for to soak more of the incoming damage to himself.

In the Support tree, we focus on health and healing masteries. The rest don’t matter because he will not be built to place debuffs.

Gear & Stats Build

The best gear set for this role in high level arena will be Swift Parry, followed by Guardian and then Immortal. The reason Swift Parry is so good on Vogoth is because it allows Vogoth to stay alive through nukes that would otherwise kill him and heal your allies. If Vogoth dies, his passive won’t trigger to heal his allies, so it’s important for Vogoth to survive.

The only stat Vogoth needs is HP. Defense helps to survive but you’ll usually get Decrease Def on yourself and it won’t help that much. Also, masteries like Selfless Defender and Bulwark ignore your Defence, and this is why the best way to build Vogoth is to build him with high HP. 90k+ Hp is recommend for Late Game+.

For the purposes of arena it’s recommended to build Vogoth in as low Resistance as possible to take only one hit from Trunda a3, which is the most commonly used nuker in Platinum arena. Other stats don’t matter much. Some of the new accessories such as Reaction and Cleansing accessories are extremely helpful to his build, especially Reaction. If you have Reaction accessories from CVC for this faction with ANY stats, put it on him. The effect of Reaction accessories is much better that the stats a regular accessory gives.

Vogoth Late Game+ Bommal Guide

Vogoth can be quite useful against Bommal. Since his main role stays the same and his main purpose in most teams and compositions is to provide healing with the passive as covered on the previous pages, he can be quite versatile in terms of the set utility as well.

If you find yourself with a team composition that can stay alive well enough and resist the bombs on key champions, he is one of the safest candidates for a Deflection set as he does not need any masteries to work – only a rare set that is a by-product of Platinum Arena finishes (don’t craft it) and the rest of the team that fits specific roles perfectly.

Masteries

In this case Vogoth can even be used without masteries at all like in this particular case. However, if you had to select the best ones for this role they would include the Defence masteries all the way to T6 Bulwark to take more heat off the rest of the team and Duchess that is in charge of reviving the squad and Support tree synergistic masteries.

Gear & Stats Build

This build only works well for Bommal and it’s a low budget build if all the conditions are met. The only requirement is 4 pieces of Deflection pieces. Stats don’t matter too much. At least 70k HP is suggested for this type of the build. Any other stats do not matter! He doesn’t need to take a turn to fulfill his role on the team!

Ideally, we will have HP% as main stat for Glove, chest, boots, and also HP main stat for accessories, but it’s not required.

How to use Vogoth in Bommal

Vogoth’s main role on the team is to heal up your other members. Vogoth doesn’t need to take a turn to fulfill his role. Whenever the Dreadbombs explode or Bommal makes an AOE hit, Vogoth will heal up the rest of his teammates with his passive.

However, beware of the requirements for the rest of the team as all of them require Deflection sets to be efficient except the main reviver with maximum resistance. Those sets have a chance to deflect the bombs and debuffs Bommal applies and deal extra damage to him to boot! Using this 200 IQ strategy and sets that are a byproduct of Platinum finishes (do not craft them for this strategy, craft Swift Parry) and dupes of legendaries you can get your own safe and fast Bommal auto farming team today!

Optimal Team Setup

  • Siphi for Resist lead aura, speed buff and healing on A1 for Lilitu to stay alive
  • Lilitu for surviving the bombs and resurrecting the whole team
  • Drexthar for application of HP burn on the passive
  • Ithos/Candraphone or any other AOE DPS that can clear the waves for the team
  • Vogoth for AOE healing from the hits.

Vogoth Late Game+ Dungeon Runs

Vogoth is a viable healer in dungeons and DT bosses because of his passive healing the entire team after he takes direct damage. Its important to have him in the last slot in the party so he takes damage last and heals the team after they have taken damage. He is not the best champion for speedruns, but you will able to use him with epics and fusions to auto most bosses on their latest stages on a budget in those encounters.

All of the dungeon and doomtower teams in this section are done with epics/fusion champions, and are replacable with other alternatives. We are just focusing on outhealing the boss damage and not using any tactics that require spesific champions like Seer.

Celestial Griffin

The boss deals direct single target and AOE damage, removes buffs from your champions, transfers debuffs from himself to the enemies and also passively gains increased damage the longer the battle lasts. Due to the boss mechanics it is harder to rely on buffs to decrease damage and heal the team, and Vogoths passive healing makes him a good option to skirt around those issues.

In the example team below, Vogoth is paired with tanky damage dealers and brogni with unremovable shields. Lots of other champions could be used in the same way as this team, but this is a budget showcase with past fusion/fragment champions that work well against this boss.

Team Composition

  1. Iron Brago for ATK Down and permanent DEF Up for the team.
  2. Rotos for dps and tankiness against the boss.
  3. Drexthar for passive HP burn and negative affinity tank in this rotation.
  4. Brogni for shields and passive dps .
  5. Vogoth for healing

Ice Golem

The boss ignores Defence and the passive makes him counterattack with a huge AOE damage once the HP lowers to certain thresholds. This can make it hard for many players that want to complete IG 20/25 for missions or tournaments and don’t have the best champions or gear to speed farm the boss.

There are two popular strategies for this. The first one is to use Poisons as this type of damage prevents Frigid Vengeance from activating when crossing the HP thresholds. The second one is to apply block revive to the adds. This decreases the AOE damage dealt.

Vogoth can be used as an additional healer when paired with tanky damage dealers, other healers and at least 1 reviver, so that you are able to tank the boss damage and outheal it. Because the boss ignores defence and does high damage, it is important to have high HP rather than defence on your champions for this encounter.

Team Composition

  1. Iron Brago for ATK Down and permanent DEF Up for the team.
  2. Rotos for dps and tankiness against the boss as well as conditional Block Revive on adds.
  3. Vogoth for healing.
  4. Taurus for AOE Poisons that don’t trigger counterattack from the boss.
  5. Arbiter for revive and TM boost

Faction wars

Vogoth can be good for the Undead Faction Wars with his taunt and healing, but how well he fits in the FW team is largely dependent on what other champions you have. If they get 1 shot his healing doesn’t come into play. He will work well with Rotos and revivers like Gorgorab and Siphi that are built tanky.

Faction wars wouldn’t be the primary reason to build Vogoth and he alone won’t be able to carry your team, but if you do have him and some other good champions you can do FW21 even without any revivers.

Team Composition

  1. Bad-el-Kazar provides healing and dps increase with his poisons and passive.
  2. Double Rotos for DPS.
  3. Vogoth for healing.
  4. Mashalled for AOE Fear debuff and Crit Dmg buff

Magma Dragon

The boss deals AOE damage and places unremovable and unresistable Hex debuff on 1 champion in the team. The boss will completely ignore Defence, Block damage, Shield and Unkillable on the target with hex debuff. The bosses a1 attack is a single target hit, so because of these mechanics the easiest way to deal with the boss is to keep him taunted the entire fight so that he wont get a chance to hit the target with hex debuff.

Many players might lack the champions and gear to be able to keep the boss taunted the entire of the fight. Vogoths taunt isnt enough to lock down the dragon for entirety of the fight, but its enough when paired with reviver/s and other taunt champions and his healing to distract the boss and cycle revives and other cooldowns to deal with the boss.

Team Composition

  1. Iron Brago for ATK Down and permanent DEF Up for the team.
  2. Brogni for shield and passive dps.
  3. Vogoth for healing.
  4. Maulie for taunt and revive.
  5. Arbiter for revive and TM boost
