Urost the Soulcage End Game Doom Tower Build Guide

Urost the Soulcage is a Void Legendary from the Undead Hordes faction and can only be obtained once from the Hard Doom Tower. He is the second and perhaps the most powerful fragment Legendary you can obtain from completing Hard Doom Tower Secret Rooms. This guide will focus on his current main Late Game use that he is most efficient in: farming the Scarab King in Hard Doom Tower.

Urost’s kit is very strong for soloing the Scarab King as his Poisons completely bypass the boss Carapace damage reduction mechanism. His A1 puts a shield on himself. A2 is a great Crowd Control ability with TM reduction, Decrease Speed and Stun under certain conditions. His A3 is a 3-turn cooldown Ally Protection and Strengthen and his passive puts up a Poison for every hit he takes and increases his HP when enemy takes damage from his Poisons. His kit overall can be useful in lots of places, for general PvE contents or Clan Boss. However, the builds would be very different on the Speed compared to his Scarab build (ideally very slow).

If your goal is just to clear the Scarab King, Urost doesn’t need to be booked nor does he need masteries if you reach the right stats thresholds. However, booking his passive and getting a few masteries in can help greatly for beating the Scarab King fast.

Masteries

For masteries, Defense and Support trees were picked. Defense tree just offers general Damage Reduction and is not the most important part. Support tree has some key masteries for Urost like the extra Accuracy and Sniper + Master Hexer on T5. These 2 T5 masteries help massively as they give more chance to apply Poisons and extend them, allowing you to kill the Boss faster. Eagle Eye T6 was picked to reach the Accuracy requirement (350+) for Doom Tower Hard as he is not in an Accuray Chestpiece or Banner for this build.

Gear & Stats Build

In order for Urost to solo the Scarab King, you need to give him some self sustain. There are many possibilities : triple Immortal set, double or single Immortal, Regeneration set or Regeneration and Immortal set. As you get less healing from Immortal, you will need more HP and Speed overall to successfully beat the Boss (120k+ HP and about 160+ speed). No Destroy set is needed as his Poison will do all of the work.

The build showcased uses a Regeneration set and an Immortal set. This build is very specific and seems counter intuitive to a regular solo build, you actually want low Speed and Resistance to achieve the lowest turn count possible as the game doesn’t count it as a turn if your champion attacks under a Provoke debuff. You want Urost to get provoked as much as possible. Thus, the build is very easy compared to other solo builds such as Vergis due to low requirements.

For stats, you want 100k HP minimum, 350+ Accuracy and as close to 110-120 Speed as possible.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves: HP%
  • Chest: HP%
  • Boots: HP%
  • Ring: HP/DEF
  • Amulet: HP/DEF
  • Banner: HP/DEF/ACC

As for Accessories, you don’t need any special sets. Only use them if the stats are good and work well with your build.

Scarab King Team & Strategy

Urost kit is extremely powerful against the Scarab King as his Poisons bypass his Shield damage Reduction property entirely. At the moment he is the fastest farmer both in terms of turns taken and time-wise.

His A1 providing a Shield seems like the ideal ability for a regular solo but it is in fact suboptimal if you want to achieve the lowest turn count possible: The Scarab King double hits and places a Provoke debuff on you if you are not under a Shield buff. This is actually exactly what you want as the more hits you take, the more Poisons you put up. Moreover, when Urost takes his turn when under Provoke debuff, it doesn’t actually count as a turn for the end result, allowing you to achieve a seemingly very efficient solo. This is why you want to be slow to have your shield removed/broken as much as possible.

To achieve a fast run, you want a team around him to clear waves quickly and to die fast against the Boss. The team showcased features:

Soulless usually dies on the Reflect Damage from the Warchief on the first wave, Trunda and Sir Nic die against the Boss. Sir Nic is usually more tanky than the rest so will survive a bit longer, but because he attacks under Provoke debuff it doesn’t affect the end result turn wise. Urost gains so much HP from his passive that he heals himself up reliably from the Regeneration and Immortal set, making this run very safe and surprisingly fast. He frees up your other champions for other uses instead of building them/speed tuning them for a specific Scarab farming team and allows to farm an extremely useful Immunity-type set.
