Raid Shadow Legends: Sir Nicholas Champion Guide

Sir Nicholas is a legendary void affinity champion from the sacred order faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is one of the best health based champions in Raid. Featuring an AOE attack and an ability to generate shields dependant on the amount of damage his A2 deals, making him excellent for Spider. He can also prove useful in the other dungeon types, including dragon and ice golem, all three will be covered in detail during this champion guide. Furthermore, in this guide we will also include information on Doom Tower and Faction Wars with this champion, as well as how to best build Sir Nicholas, masteries, gear, stats and more.

Sir Nicholas End Game Build Guide

Sir Nicholas, also known as Sir Nic, was the first fusion of Raid that was available after the beta and he is available in the shop for a hefty amount of life tokens attained from unbinding dupe champions (though such a use is not recommended).

Sir Nic is a Void HP based Legendary of the Sacred Order faction and used to be the hardest HP nuker in the game before Magnarr. Being a very old champion, he has definitely lost a lot of value compared to the rest, but can still be useful if you were lucky enough to get him. This guide will focus feature him in the Doom Tower (SR, Nether Spider), FW and various PvE contents. He can be used in Unkillable Clan Boss team but the build would be very different and requires specific speed tunes you need to look up separately.

Skills

Sir Nic has a decent kit both for dealing damage and keeping your team alive. His A1 has a 50% chance to place a single target Freeze that cannot be resisted, this can be pretty useful for extra Crowd Control. His A2 deals AoE damage and places a Shield on your team equal to 30% of the damage, this skill places a ridiculously high shield in Spider dungeon and is pretty decent for other content. His A3 places Unkillable and Continuous Heal on your team, this skill is what makes him viable in Clan Boss and it is massive for survivability elsewhere.

Masteries

In this case, masteries were picked to maximise damage with some solo farming in mind. Offense and Support trees were picked. For Offense, [Whirlwind of Death] and [Wrath of the Slain] are very helpful for solo farming for added damage and Speed, [Cycle of Violence] to reduce cooldowns and [Helmsmasher] T6 gives the best damage against waves. Support tree enhances his shielding, gives more TM or Speed with a chance to extend Continuous Heal with [Lasting Gifts].

[Warmaster] is better in Boss fights and Defense tree for extra damage mitigation or counter attack are viable, but not relevant for his role in the featured build.

Gear & Stats Build

For a pure damage build, Lethal/Savage is always the go to set. The secondary gear set can be Crit Damage or Cruel for even more damage bonus. However, broken sets are perfectly fine if you can get better stats. If you’re earlier in the game you can use any sets you want as long as you focus on maximising the stats as outlined below.

A fast Sir Nic is very useful to cycle through his skills, however, above 180 speed is good enough for most content. For damage, aim for 80k+ HP and 250% CDmg while keeping Crit Rate at 100%. Everything else is just bonus.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves: Crit Damage/Crit Rate
  • Chest: HP%
  • Boots: HP%/Speed
  • Ring: Def/HP
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: HP

For accessories, you can use whatever you have. Revenge is pretty good to make the most out of his A1 which hits hard and has a chance to CC.

Doom Tower Runs

Nether Spider

Sir Nic is quite relevant against the Nether Spider especially in the Geomancer teams. This composition relies on Geomancer to do massive damage quickly to the Boss. Keeping Geomancer alive is crucial and Sir Nic brings exactly that with his Shield and Unkillable.

  1. Venomage provides Heal Reduction
  2. Geomancer places HP Burn for his passive that decreases damage to the team and provides dps
  3. Trunda provides wave clearing
  4. Vogoth provides extra survivability

Every counter attack from the spiderlings can trigger Geomancer’s passive, making this comp particularly effective. If you can kill the waves in one shot (so 6 turns leading up to Boss) and with good RNG on Geo’s passive proc, you can clear Nether Spider 110 in 11 turns.

Secret Room 2

Sir Nic is a very interesting champion for a HP Secret Room. He provides both damage through the HP aura and survivability for the team, allowing you to bring more utility instead of a reviver. This room has 2 very problematic champions : Mortu-Macaab and Hakkorhn Smashlord. One provides big threat with his Peril ability, which is countered by Unkillable and Ally Protection. The other provides healing and cleanse which can also be very problematic and CC is the way to counter it.

The team is centered around Crowd Control :

  1. Sir Nic provides Continuous Heal, Unkillable and damage
  2. Miscreated Monster provides Stun and Ally Protection
  3. Nazana provides Ally Protection and extra CC with Stun set
  4. Toragi provides Provoke and CC with Frostbite gear
  5. Gnarlhorn provides Provoke and CC with Frostbite gear

Faction Wars

FW21 of the Sacred Order can be tough without a reviver because of the ignore defense enemy. However, Sir Nic can provide the support needed for a safe 3* clear. A strong example team composition with roles for each champion in faction wars with Sir Nic is as follows:

  • Sir Nic provides general damage, Unkillable, Continuous Heal and Shield
  • Fenax provides damage and Block Revive
  • Armiger provides TM control and Block Revive
  • Deacon provides TM control and Decrease Defense
  • Aothar provides Poison

Dungeon Runs

Spider 20-25

Spider was probably the most popular use for Sir Nicholas for the longest time. His A2 placing a Shield based on damage is particularly interesting in this dungeon with many enemies, making the Spider’s Den very easy as you can safely bring weak champions. His massive Shield and Unkillable allows your Coldhearts to cycle through their cooldowns to get back to their MAX HP nuke.

Spider 20 with double Coldheart allows you to nuke the boss fast, a Decrease Defense champion allows you to do more damage, Renegade reduces cooldowns on Heartseeker. As there is a 1 turn cooldown difference, your Coldhearts will need to cycle through their turn to get back to the nuke, Sir Nic provides the protection needed during this delay.

Spider 25 requires HP Burn if you want to clear it relatively fast, thus Mordecai was used (his extra TM control is nice for that purpose), double Coldheart provide MAX HP nuke and TM control. You don’t need Decrease Defense here to hit MAX HP cap. Sir Nic doing massive damage for the Shield is certainly suboptimal for an HP Burn strat but the Spiderlings are tanky enough here.

Dragon 20-25

The Dragon dungeon is not a particularly difficult dungeon to farm, but having extra support is always welcome. Sir Nic allows you to go in with a fairly squishy team without a reviver and still clearing safely. You don’t need to keep the whole team alive at boss stage as it would just drag things out.

This Dragon 20 team was more of a fun trio run with Zavia Urogrim and Sir Nic. Zavia does most of the damage but is very squishy as she does not have any healing. Sir Nic will offer her enough protection for a safe run. The Dragon 25 team is very weak and needs protection on waves:

  1. Deacon provides Speed Aura, Decrease Defense and TM control
  2. Genbo provides damage
  3. Occult Brawler provides Poisons and ensures we kill the Dragon
  4. Sir Nic provides protection on waves
  5. Richtoff provides more damage and Poisons

Ice Golem 20

The Ice Golem’s Peak can be very tough if you trigger too many Frigid Vengeances from the Boss when both minios are alive. Sir Nic can, however, help mitigate that with his massive Shield and Unkillable buff. This team relies on Poison to kill the Boss:

  • Sir Nic provides wave damage and survivability
  • Richtoff provides Poisons
  • Stag Knight provides Decrease Defense and Decrease Attack for extra survivability
  • Vogoth provides passive healing
  • Reliquary Tender provides a Cleanse, healing and a Revive
