Raid Shadow Legends: Shamrock Champion Guide

Shamrock is a legendary spirit affinity champion from the ogryn tribes faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is a great champion for early game progression and can also provide some value to end game teams, particularly in Hydra, Doom Tower and Dungeon Runs. We will cover all of these areas in detail during this Shamrock Champion Guide. With information on masteries, gear and stats selection, followed by team compositions, strategy and tactics for each of the different types of content that players can use Shamrock in effectively.

Shamrock Hydra Build Guide

Shamrock has found himself to be one of the most useful supports for any Hydra rotation even at the highest difficulties. His kit is tailor made to cover multiple areas in terms of ally buffs, enemy debuffs and utility.

Skills

A1 is a double hit that steals buffs. Hydra heads can steal bonuses or self buff, and sometimes stealing them is extremely important. A2 places Speed and Def buff on all allies, and at low team HP, instead of Def buff, a Revive On Death buff is placed. This allows you to keep your team fast and deal more dps over time while being reasonably safe from Hydra hits. This also allows you to purposefully kill an ally with the Mark of the Hydra at a critical moment to knock down the consume counter. On A3, he places a Decrease Speed debuff on all enemies and doesn’t hit them, making it work on any affinity and even through Toxic Cloud buffs. This is a crucial piece for increasing your dps over time as this difference in speed for your team and Hydra adds up considerably.

Masteries

In order for Shamrock to be as effective as possible, it is better to use the masteries of the Offense branch with the Warmaster T6 through the talent Life Drinker. You could opt in for Eagle Eye if you don’t have enough Accuracy from your gear as this is the stat with the utmost priority.

The second mastery tree should be Support. It’s not an obvious decision here not to take Swarm Smiter, but to use a combination of Rapid Response and Arcane Celerity in order to boost your turn meter as often as possible, and then Lasting gifts to extend buffs on an ally and Master Hexer to extend debuffs on the enemies.

Gear & Stats Build

Shamrock has good base HP and Def so he usually has no survivability problems. However, in order to maximum his utility, it is better to use him in a Protection set. This will allow you to redirect a part of the damage from your damage dealers, which sometimes plays a critical role. For a secondary set, it is better to take Perception for additional Accuracy, since we are abandoning the Eagle Eye masteries in this build, Accuracy on our artifacts is our priority.

In order to feel comfortable on the NM Hydra, Shamrock needs 370-400 accuracy, 251+ speed, the remaining stats can be invested in Resistance or in HP and DEF. Even 400 Resistance has a good chance of avoiding debuffs from most heads. We are absolutely not interested in attacking stats.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves – HP%/DEF%
  • Chest – HP%/DEF% if you are interested in high Resistance or need more Accuracy then pick a RES or ACC main stat
  • Boots – Speed
  • Ring – HP/DEF
  • Amulet – HP/DEF
  • Banner – ACC

Refresh Accessories can be a great choice.

Hydra Team & Strategy

Hydra is quite demanding content, so each champion will have specific roles. For Shamrock, it is to keep the Decrease SPD debuff on the heads and also the SPD and DEF buff on the allies so that we would inflict as much damage as possible. Control the Def Up buff before heads make hard hits especially Wrath. Here is an example of a team that, without any problems 1 keys Nightmare Hydra that is the top difficulty at the moment:

  • Shamrock in Guardian set for SPD buff and SPD debuf.
  • Duchess Lilitu in Regeneration set for revival, Block Debuffs buff and damage reduction.
  • Uugo in Speed, Perception, Accuracy sets for DEF, Block Buffs debuffs and healing.
  • Royal Guard in Relentless set for max HP dps.
  • Husk in Relentless set for max HP dps and provoking head of Decay.
  • Geomancer in Relentless set for max HP dps with his passive, burn and Weaken.

Shamrock Hard Doom Tower Build Guide

Shamrock is an underrated champion that has been vastly improved with his buffs. He excels as a support champion with his a2, and a decrease speed / turn manipulator on his a3. Shamrock Accuracy Aura is also relevant in content such as Doom Tower and Faction wars as it allows you to lower the requirements for you Accuracy in the team. Booking Shamrock skills is debatable and depends on how much your current teams need him. He works without the books, however booking his abilities to cooldown makes him stronger.

Masteries

The essential masteries are lasting gifts and rapid response. This allows for more Turn Meter (TM) boosts as a large number of buffs is placed with his A2 both above and below 50% health. An extra turn of Increase speed/Def up/Heal/Revive on death is invaluable. Increase of TM when these buffs expire means he cycles back to these abilities even faster. Note that rapid response means he is’t well suited to scarab where he can outrun shield placement.

The final mastery Eagle Eye is essential for making him land his a3, which is amazing particularly in the later floors (50 and above) for hard doom tower. His a3 does not attack enemies. This means that a3 can’t make a weak hit and works against any affinity and doesn’t break the sleep debuff.

Gear & Stats Build

Shamrock has excellent base stats, meaning he can be built fast, tanky and with high accuracy. In Hard Doom tower specifically, it is vital that he is fast enough to be able to land his a3 before the enemies take a turn. This can be achieved through equipment, or via a speed booster such as arbiter or apothecary. Accuracy or perception sets from the forge may be needed if you can’t reach the accuracy requirements from other gear.

Anything over 260 speed is required in the later stages of hard doom tower and high levels of accuracy (400+ is ideal, including his aura).

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves – DEF%/HP%
  • Chest – DEF%/HP%
  • Boots – DEF%/ATK%/SPD
  • Ring – DEF/HP
  • Amulet – DEF/HP
  • Banner – ACC

Note that the jewelery from the Bazaar with cooldown reduction works well if you have it. His acc aura means you can run him in the lead and get an extra 70 accuracy, which may be critical for ensuring debuffs do not get resisted, particularly on the later floors of doom tower.

He is NOT a damage dealer, so there is no need to build him with atk/CR/CD. Resistance is also a option, however his main function is to allow your team to get a full turn in before the enemies go, allowing you to land important debuffs. You will need other appropriate Debuff champions along side him – on his own he cannot carry a team with damage.

Floor 199 Team & Strategy

Hard Doom Tower at the highest levels can be problematic and Shamrock can bring you some luck and help even on floor 119! Floor 199 is all about the second wave: Siphi, Rotos x2 and 2 mountain kings. While Siphi is alive, any debuffs on Rotos will reset on his go, and the mountain kings have very high resistance (365).

  • Shamrock: Support, debuffer (decrease speed, decrease turn meter), acc aura.
  • Lydia: Support (strengthen, increase speed), debuffer (dec def/weaken/block debuffs/block skill cooldowns / poision sensitivity).
  • Warlord: Support. Buffs (block debuffs, healer, shield), debuffer (reduce turn meter, debuff extender, reset enemy skill cooldowns).
  • Blind Seer: Support. Buffs (block debuffs, shield, revive). Debuffs (reduce turn meter).
  • Nethril: Damage/Support. Debuffs (poison, decrease speed/stun/reduce turn meter).

Between these heroes, you should have a near permanent Defence and Damage reduction buffs, making it easier to tank the damage from Rotos and the mountain kings. Also, due to the combination of increase speed on your heroes and reduce speed on the enemy team, these buffs/debuffs should be near permanent. Obviously once Rotos takes a turn these debuffs instantly get negated until Siphi dies due to her passive, which is why she is the immediate priority to target in Doom Tower.

Dungeon Raids with Shamrock

Spider 20

Spider 20 is one of the dungeons where many player struggle. Shamrock can be used efficiently in Spider 20 and below due to his Decrease Speed / Turn meter manipulation on the main spider and spiderlings that work regardless of afinity, as well as defence up/revive on death / heal buffs on his a2.

In this team Arbiter serves at the TM booster and reviver and places Weaken Debuff, Coldheart is the nuker with MAX HP hit and TM depletion, Tayrel provides AOE Defence Down for Miscreated Monster shields. Due to the difficulty of this dungeon, Shamrock does require additional support but would function well at earlier stages as well.

Dragon 20

On Dragon 20 Shamrock is weak affinity and the boss has immunity to Decrease Speed debuffs and Turn meter reduction.

However, he does provide useful support from his A2 on the boss and is useful on the waves with the full suite of buffs and debuffs. His Accuracy Aura also helps Reliquary Tender to place decrease atk on the dragon, as this can mitigate a large amounts of damage (and Reliquary Tender has about 100 Accuracy without the aura).

Ice Golem 20

Shamrock can reduce TM and speed of Ice Golem and both minions. In addition, his increase speed and defence can help survive heavier hits. The composition is not overpowered here on purpose and consists of Shamrock, Stag Knight, Reliquary Tender, Coldheart and Frozen Banshee.

Note that this does require an additional Atk Down champion in the team for 100% success. His revive on death can also be useful if the boss gets two large hits back to back. Poison procs don’t cause Ice Golem to retaliate so if you’re struggling with this dungeon consider using champions with this skill and taking it slow.

Faction Wars Team & Strategy

If you have Shamrock, you’re lucky with Faction Wars! The kit he has is tailored towards the faction and he can be amazing in that area. Shamrock’s main role here is as reviver. He can help during the waves as a general support as described previously. His buff removal on his a1 can be particularly helpful in the second wave. He is one of the MVPs at the boss.

Obviously, this depends on the gear you have on your champions, but if you don’t have lifesteal or leech then you can still complete the floor. His revive on death for 2 turns from Lucky Charms (A2) is key, especially due to damage that comes from HP burns and poisons. He commonly revives all 4 champions, which can be key for completing the floor. He could also be paired well with Drokgul or Grush for extra healing and support. A strong example faction wars team composition for faction wars could include the following additional champions:

  1. Ignatius
  2. Occult Brawler
  3. Skullcrusher
  4. Ghrush the Mangler
Shamrock faction wars

Arena Team & Strategy

Shamrock can also be used in Arena even if he’s not a Platinum tier legendary. If he is built to be quick enough, he can cut in before the enemy team, reducing their turn meter and allows your buffers/debuffers/nukers to go first. In this arena team, he goes second after arbiter.

His a3 allows blind seer to place shields/block debuffs and allows Rae to nuke the enemy team. This principle works in almost any arena set up if you have an initial speed lead / booster.

In 3v3 when you are facing possibly longer fights compared to standard teams, his a2 and a1 provide substantial support and buff removal/steal can be extremely effective. Furthermore, Shamrock works well in almost any 3v3 arena setup for his support/revive/healing abilities and excels in speed nuke, and slower tanks builds. However, a strong example composition can be seen below and includes the following additional champions:

  1. Arbiter
  2. Blind Seer
  3. Rae
