Raid Shadow Legends: Scyl of the Drakes Champion Guide

Scyl of the Drakes is a free login reward, obtained after 180 days of playing Raid Shadow Legends. She is arguably the best login reward players can get in the game and can be used to good effect. Scyl is a legendary champion from the barbarian faction, with an affinity for Magic. This champion is highly versatile, while she is best in dungeons and faction wars, she can be used at all types of content. Although, to be used efficiently, it is important that Scyl is geared with enough accuracy and good speed and defence.

Scyl of the Drakes End Game Build Guide

Scyl of the Drakes is a Magic Affinity Support Legendary Champion that all players will receive as a 180-day login reward. While she may be a free champion, her utility in this game is almost universal. She can be used literally anywhere in the game. She constantly heals your team with every turn she takes with her passive, controls the waves with AOE stuns, Decreases TM and Speed of bosses, has good damage multipliers AND revives allies.

Scyl can slot into any dungeon team, carry you in the Barbarian Faction Wars, help you clear nightmare campaign, be part of your Arena team, and even your Clan Boss team if you don’t have any better options. On top of that, she doesn’t require books to perform her job. With books, she becomes much better of course. With the addition of Doom Tower, this usability extends even further to help take down Kuldath, the Magma Dragon and Angrath, the Nether Spider in the Hard Doom Tower.

Masteries

Masteries on Scyl are flexible and can vary depending on how you want to use her. Usually the Offense and Support Mastery are selected.

For the Offense tree, you simply want to take the Crit Rate, Crit Damage mastery, all the way down to T6 Warmaster. If you are using Scyl mostly for Arena it’s advisable to pick Helmsmasher/Flawless Excecution instead for T6.

The Support tree is a more flexible. You can take the accuracy masteries if you need more accuracy on her. If you can obtain the needed accuracy through gear, taking health and healing increase masteries is an option. For T3 Rapid Response and Arcane Celerity works well since she applies buffs and debuffs allowing her to gain lots of TM to take turns quicker. For T4, Merciful Aid for more healing. You can decide between Lore of Steel or Evil Eye. Evil Eye was chose for the build as Lore of steel doesn’t provide as much value with the Relentless set. Finally, Lasting Gifts to increase the duration of Increase Speed buff she places and Sniper to increase the chance of placing her Decrease Speed Debuff round up the masteries.

Gear & Stats Build

Scyl of the Drakes is primarily a support champion, while she can deal damage if built for it, I do not recommend it if you have to sacrifice her survivability and speed. The most important stats to get on her are Speed, Accuracy and Defense and this build focuses on her as a support.

Around 220 accuracy is enough for regular PVE content but for Hard Doom Tower, 330+ accuracy is needed for the bosses. You then want her to be as fast as possible, ideally around 200+. Finally, try to build her with around 4k Defense.

Scyl can be built with any set if you meet the stat requirement, but Relentless set is the best set to have her in. She benefits a lot from being able to take multiple turns as she passively heals and provides Increase Speed buffs to your team as well as lowers her cooldown. However, the stats are still important. Relentless set are hard to come by. Do not build her in a weak Relentless set as it will hinder her performance. She can work just as well with pure Speed, Perception sets or even random items if Scyl has sufficient stats.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Def %
  • Chest: Def %
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: Defense
  • Amulet: Defense
  • Banner: Accuracy

You can use Scyl of the Drakes anywhere with this suggested build. The Scyl showed in this guide is in a Late Game Relentless build. These numbers will be difficult to achieve if you are in the early, or mid-game but can be your long term goal.

Dungeon Runs

Spider 20

One of the areas that is problematic for Late Game players is the Spider dungeon. Scyl can offer help in multiple ways there. She provides stun to control the spiderlings, Decrease Speed on the big spider that helps keep it’s TM down, healing for the team.

A good example of team composition with Scyl is to run two Coldhearts as the main engine, that are the MAX HP Nukers and full tm depleters. Stag Knight provides AOE Def Down, Atk Down and Decrease Speed. Psylar and Scyl ensure the Spiderlings don’t take too many turns and are stunned

Scyl Late Game+ Dungeon Runs

Dragon 20

Another Dungeon that is relevant from mid-game to end-game is Dragon 20. Scyl provides AOE stuns and healing. Gorgorab TM boosts, ATK up buffs and resurrection ensure the team survives both the waves and the boss.

Stag Knight provides AOE Def Down and ATK down. However, he is negative affinity for Dragon 20 and is not so reliable due to affinity disadvantage, so another champion takes the fore – Zargala. Frozen Banshee main goal is to make sure the Dragon is constantly poisoned as this is one of the mains sources of damage at the boss stage.

Dragon 20 dungeon

Fire Knight 20

Despite the negative affinity for Fire Knight 20, Scyl can still be useful thanks to her healing and CC kit as discussed previously. Her high base stats in this build allow her to tank both the waves and the boss if needed. AI changes have allowed Coldhearts to fully unleash their potential in this dungeon as the don’t use heartseeker once the shield is up anymore.

A strong example team for Fire Knight 20 with Scyl of the Drakes includes:

  • 2x Coldheart
  • Gorgorab
  • Stag Knight

Ice Golem 20

Scyl of the Drakes can pull her weight in Ice Golem 20. This dungeon is well known for the waves and the boss being able to hit extremely hard, so Scyl provides the team with healing and backup resurrection along with wave control and debuffs.

In this composition Norog provides protection from AOE damage. Stag Knight has AOE Def Down and ATK Down for further damage reduction and speeding up the runs. Dark Elhain is a damage dealer that can utilise her passive to convert the Freeze debuff into damage on the boss stage. Gorgorab provides TM boosting and resurrection if things go South.

Doom Tower Runs

With the release of the new Doom Tower Bosses – Celestial Griffin and Eternal Dragon, Scyl of the Drakes is once again useful in new content. Her build can work better with slight adjustments to the original Late Game+ Build in terms of equipment.

Gear & Stats Build

Resistance is the top priority for the new build. At least 380 resistance is needed to reliably resist the highest stage of Hard Doom Tower (120). A high Speed, Defense and enough accuracy stats are still necessary to perform well. At least 200 speed, 4k Defense, and around 250+ Accuracy are recommended. She doesn’t need as much accuracy because she’s not applying her debuffs to the boss, but the minions. Once again, Relentless set works amazingly for Scyl and is highly recommended. She benefits from being able to take multiple turns as she passively heals and provides Increase Speed buffs to your team as well as lowers her cooldown.

However, the stats are still important. Relentless set are hard to come by. Do not build her in Relentless set if you cannot achieve the required stats. She can work just as well with pure Speed, Perception, Resistance sets or even random items as long as you meet the required stats.

Celestial Griffin: Hard Stage 90 Team

The team used for Hard Stage 90 Celestial Griffin is as follows:

  1. Scyl of the Drakes
  2. Rotos
  3. Norog
  4. Drexthar
  5. Doompriest

Scyl provides support to the team with her passive heals, Increase Speed, and emergency revives. Norog provides team damage reduction and is a secondary DPS for the Boss. His passive is even more effective here at providing the full 25% damage reduction because the Griffin constantly strips buffs. Rotos and Drexthar provide DPS. Finally, Doompriest provides additional support with her heals and cleanses the debuffs transferred back to your team each turn.

Eternal Dragon: Hard Stage 120 Team

The team used for Hard Stage 120 Eternal Dragon is as follows:

  1. Scyl of the Drakes
  2. Vrask
  3. Norog
  4. Drexthar
  5. Jareg

Scyl provides support to the team with her constant heals, Increase speed, AOE stuns against the minions, and emergency revives. Scyl is built with a high enough resistance to resist all the Dragon’s Skill Cooldown affecting abilities so, she can still CC the minions and revive dead allies. Norog provides passive team damage reduction from the Dragon’s Hard hitting AOE and is a secondary DPS. Drexthar is the main damage dealer through his AOE HP Burn applied when the enemies attack. While Jareg places Decrease Attack on the boss to reduce incoming damage and places a Continuous Heal buff on your team after taking the Dragon’s hard hitting AOE. Finally, Vrask provides additional team healing since the heal from Scyl and Jareg is not enough to sustain the team.
