Psylar General PVE Build Guide

Psylar is a very strong control support, and she can be amazing in a stun set. To utilise her kit to the fullest, defense and support mastery trees are good choices.

Masteries

In the defense tree we are looking for general survivability, and the first big mastery we pick up is Harvest Despair. This mastery will help a lot with sustain through the leech mechanic on the stunned targets.

The tier 6 talent is by far the most important – Fearsome Presence increases the stun set chance of landing stuns from 18% to 23%.

Since all of Psylar’s attacks are AoE, this 5% difference adds up and gives your runs more consistency. The second tree we take on Psylar is the support tree – this just adds even more utility, turn meter increase and accuracy to help land the Leaden Legs ability. Arcane Celerity and Evil Eye help with turn meter manipulation as well, which makes a big difference in keeping dungeon waves controlled.

Gear & Stats Build

This build revolves around the 4-piece Stun set from Fire Knight’s Castle. Note that the stun set does not need any accuracy for the stun debuff to land. However, accuracy is needed for her skills, in particular her a3.

The actual stats on the gear pieces do not need to be perfect for this build to work, but you want to prioritize speed, accuracy, defense and hp. In this build Psylar is a control support, not a main source of damage. We want her to be fast so she gets more turns off to get more stuns and turn meter manipulation. At certain breakpoints (over 2x speed of enemy waves) that will make Psylar much more effective, and you may want to consider pairing her with a speed aura lead or turn meter booster like apothecary if that would be the difference between 185 speed to 215 speed for example.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: DEF% / HP%
  • Chest: DEF% / HP%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: HP/Defense
  • Amulet: HP/Defense
  • Banner: Accuracy

Psylar Doom Tower Build Guide

Psylar is one of the best Crowd Control (CC) champions in Raid, especially for an Epic. All her skills attack all enemies which makes her excellent in Stun set.

A stun set Psylar will be the focus of this guide as all forms of CC are extremely important to progress through the higher levels of Hard Doom Tower.

Masteries

Psylar’s Masteries for Doom Tower will not be different from any other regular content. You still want the Defense and Support trees. Note that the stun set doesn’t require accuracy to land the stuns. Weak hits are not a problem for Psylar and this is a further case in favour of using it.

The most important T6 mastery in this build is Fearsome Presence to increase the chance to stun from 18% to 23%. Some key masteries to have on her are the Retribution mastery for a chance to counterattack, which gives her additional chance to Stun the enemies for more CC, the accuracy masteries, Lore of Steel for more stats and Evil Eye to decrease TM. Below are the important and relevant masteries to have on her. It’s not necessary to have full masteries on her to make her work.

Gear & Stats Build

Hard Doom Tower is end-game level content and the stats requirements are much higher than regular content. So, if you already have her built, you most likely will have to re-build her specifically for Hard DT.

The hard DT waves, especially the highest floors have high speeds and resistance. The fastest champion in Hard DT is Siphi at 264 speed and the highest resistance champion in Hard DT is Mountain King at 365 Resistance. So, you will need to build your Psylar with at least 265 speed and 325 Accuracy to go first and land her debuffs in all the waves. Recommended main stats:

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Def %/ HP % / Crit Rate %
  • Chest: Accuracy (If Accuracy requirement cannot be met) otherwise, HP%/Def%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: HP/Def
  • Amulet: HP/Def
  • Banner: Accuracy

Consider taking your fastest pieces of speed gear, usually from your Arbiter or speed booster, and your highest accuracy piece from your other champions so you can meet the speed and accuracy requirement. You can swap it back once you use all your DT keys for the day.

Hard DT Strategy

Psylar’s main purpose in Hard DT is to slow down the enemies so that your other champions can take a turn. If the enemy gets to take a turn first, your team will have a bad time. For a CC strategy, Psylar cannot function as your only CC champion, two or ideally 3 CC champions are needed to control the waves. this is the team used for hard DT waves:

  • Psylar: 1st CC champion. Fastest, goes first so other champion can take a turn.
  • Nethril: 2nd CC champion.
  • Big’Un: 3rd CC champion. Secondary DPS.
  • Lydia/Venus: Debuffer.
  • Rotos: Main DPS.

Keep in mind that the hardest DT waves are the Rotos + Siphi combination that cleanses the stun debuffs due to Siphi’s passive, so in those cases you need champions like Seer that can one-shot those problematic champions. Psylar can be used in those stages to slow down the enemies so the entire team can take a turn to perform their combo since everyone’s speed is below the enemies, especially on Hard stages 111+.
