Raid Shadow Legends: Nethril Champion Guide

Nethrilis a legendary spirit affinity champion from the undead hordes faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is a versatile champion with applications to a variety of content between the late and end game stages. He should be built with high speed, accuracy and HP to get the best out of this champion, as you will see later on in this guide. His AOE turn meter reduction, stuns and decrease speed are what make him one of the best control champions. In this guide you will learn how to best build and use Nethril in dungeon runs, faction wars and hard Doom Tower.

Nethril Late Game Build Guide

Netrhil is an excellent legendary that is useful for many stages of the game. In the late game scenarios he is especially helpful in two areas – Spider dungeon and Faction Wars. This guide focuses on those two areas. This build focuses on Nethril as a Crowd Control (CC) champion due to his TM decrease, Speed Decrease Debuff and Stuns. Nethril really likes the books to decrease the cooldown for his skills for maximum efficiency.

Masteries

Offence with Giant Slayer T6 mastery was selected for additional damage along with Opportunist for more damage to targets under stun, Cycle of violence for cooldown decrease and Bring it down. Support tree masteries include Evil eye for targeted cooldown reduction and the extra accuracy, turn meter boosts.

For a buid in Arena you could alternatively build Nethril with Eagle eye T6 mastery for extra accuracy or Helmsmasher for damage because Nethril can hit quite hard.

Gear & Stats Build

200 accuracy is the bare minimum for dungeons 20 (you would normally want 230-250) while 200+ speed is prefered so Nethril can lap the waves in the dungeons and place debuffs on the big spider. As long as you can continuously apply the CC you can lock the enemies out of combat.

This build is more offensive and decent Crit Rate and Dmg allows Nethril to help clean out the waves and the bosses. If you want to maximise the potential you would want to reach 100% Crit Rate and 200%+ Crit Damage.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves – Crit Dmg/Crit Rate
  • Chest – DEF%/HP%/ACC
  • Boots – SPD
  • Ring – DEF/HP
  • Amulet – Crit Dmg
  • Banner – ACC

Note that jewellery with refresh abilities from Bazaar are best in slot for Nethril.

Faction Wars Team Strategy

Nethril is Excellent in Faction Wars and can work extremely well both on the waves and against the boss. In crypt 19 Sethalia and Thenasil waves can be difficult without him. On the second wave in crypt 21 Valkyries can be a particularly big problem for teams attempting to complete it. Nethril can help in keeping them stunned and under constant CC. At least 210 speed is recommended so he can go twice for every enemy turn.

Note the manual control to ensure that those champions that are not affected by the CC are controlled by Seeker provoke and no excessive buffs or TM boosts are made to prevent Valkyrie passives from triggering. On the boss Decrease Speed, TM reduction and poisons play a key role in dealing enough damage to complete the crypt on a budget. 3 Starring this stage is also much easier with Nethril than without him.

A strong team composition for Nethril in Faction Wars could include the following champions:

  1. Frozen Banshee
  2. Seeker
  3. Mausoleum Mage
  4. Doomscreech

Spider 20 Strategy

Nethril can be useful in the Spider dungeon on multiple stages. His CC of the spiderlings combined with either MAX HP nukes or AOE HP burn makes him a good supporting candidate for all affinities except for Magic.

In this team Nethril uses his kit to keep the Spiderlings and the big spider under debuffs and with reduced TM. Coldheart provides the nuking and full tm depletion capabilities. Madame Serris ensures Def Down is placed and the team can survive longer due to the ATK Down debuff. Apothecary and Mausoleum Mage ensure the team doesn’t crumble and can tank long enough to bring spider down.

Fire Knight 20 Strategy

Nethril’s kit on the waves has already been discussed at length. Fire Knight 20 is where Nethril is good on waves not least because of favourable affinity. On the boss a 3-hit A1 has an added benefit of bringing the shield down faster and the Decrease Speed and TM reduction are always welcome when the shield is down.

Make sure you have a supporting cast for the squishy Nethril, because he needs to survive to be of use! An example of a strong team to pair Nethril with would be as follows:

  1. Ghostborn
  2. Coldheart
  3. Kaiden
  4. Arbiter

Arena Strategy

The final area of use featured in this Guide is the Arena. Right now Gold 4 is not that difficult to reach if you’ve got the correct gear farmed and a decent team composition.

The usual fight on the Arena starts with a TM boost, AOE Def down and Nuke. With Nethril you have a few more options including going second after the TM boost to lower the TM of the enemies. This allows you to build your damage dealers with slightly less speed and more dps. Another option for Nethril are the stuns he can provide in more grindy battles. A good starting composition example for the arena could include the following additional champions:

  1. Kael
  2. Serris
  3. Arbiter

Nethril End Game Build Guide

Nethril is an amazing AOE Crowd Control (CC) champion. He has two incredible AOE CC skills, one that decreases Turn Meter by 75% and another that either stuns or places decrease speed debuff.

This guide will focus on his role as a Hard CC champion on the Hard DT Waves. Although his 3-hit A1 and the ability to place poison is amazing for Clan Boss and Bosses, it does not have much value against the DT waves. Booking all his Crowd Control abilities are a must to get the lower cooldown and higher chance of procs. Booking his A1 is not necessary for this role but is valuable if you use him everywhere else, especially in Clanboss, dungeons and Faction Wars.

Masteries

Nethril’s Masteries include Giant Slayer for T6 for maximum efficiency and DPS on cb. You will want to use the Offense and Support tree. Some key masteries for him are the basic the accuracy masteries, Evil Eye to decrease TM, and Lore of Steel for more stats.

However, this build uses Arcane Celerity to gain TM from Debuffs expiring. If you use him in a speedtuned CB team, do not take this mastery as it break your CB speed tune.

Gear & Stats Build

Hard DT is end-game level content and the stats requirements are higher than the regular dungeons. The hard DT waves, especially the higher floors, have high speeds and resistance. The fastest champion in Hard DT is Siphi at 264 speed and the highest resistance champion in Hard DT is Mountain King at 365 Resistance. Nethril needs at least 325 Accuracy to land his debuffs. If you are using him as your primary/first CC champion, you will need to build him with at least 265 speed, which is not recommended. Nethril has a very low base speed which makes it a little difficult to build him with that much speed. Use another champion to CC first like a Psylar and Nethril to follow up with his CC ability.

A combination of Speed, Accuracy, Perception set to meet the accuracy requirement and have at least 220+ speed is recommended. There are other optional improvements for sets you can make if you can reach the recommended stats such as Reflex Set and Relentless sets if you have them as well as jewelery with refresh abilities from the Bazaar.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Def %/ HP %
  • Chest: Accuracy (If Accuracy requirement cannot be met) otherwise, HP%/Def%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: HP/Def
  • Amulet: HP/Def
  • Banner: Accuracy

Consider taking your fastest piece of speed gear, usually from your Arbiter or speed booster, and your highest accuracy piece from your other champions so you can meet the speed and accuracy requirement. You can swap it back once you use all your DT keys for the day.

Hard Doom Tower Strategy

Nethril’s main purpose in Hard DT is to control the enemy waves. If the enemy gets to take a turn, your team will have a bad time. He can land a large amount of TM decreases and has a very high chance to stun. You can then focus your DPS on the target that is not stunned or is the priority target.

For the Hard CC strategy Nethril is paired with Psylar and Big’Un. Nethril cannot function as your only CC champion, your team needs to have at least 2, ideally 3 CC champions to continuously lock down the enemy waves in this strategy. The following team is used to clear most of the Hard DT waves (Guides on the other champions will also be available):

  1. Psylar: 1st CC champion. Fastest, goes first so other champion can take a turn.
  2. Nethril: 2nd CC champion
  3. Big’Un: 3rd CC champion. Secondary DPS.
  4. Lydia/Venus: Debuffer
  5. Rotos: Main DPS
