Genbo Late Game Build Guide

Do you find yourself waiting upwards of 30 seconds to defeat teams with unkillable champs in them? Do you cringe when you attack a Skullcrown team? Well, if you have Genbo fear no more! Genbo is great to help speed up those arena battle because he ignores the unkillable buff.

Genbo is a Void affinity Epic from the new Shadowkin Faction that has a unique ability to igore the annoying unkillable buffs that are prevalent in the Arena Meta right now. As a Nuker, it is highly recommend to at least fully book his A2 and A3 to get the full damage percent increase from books and lowering cooldown.

Masteries

Masteries are in the Offense and Defense trees as none of Genbo’s skills need accuracy. In the Offense tree, take the Crit Rate, Crit Damage, Arena damage increasing masteries like Heart of Glory, Ruthless Ambush, Killstreak and into T6 Helm Smasher for a chance to ignore Defense and it is the premier mastery for Arena Nukers. Note that capped Crit Rate and 220%+ Crit Damage is recommended when selecting it, otherwise you can opt for Flawless Execution.

In the Defense Tree, Defiant is selected to take Improved Parry to reduce critical hits, into Bloodthirst, Delayed Death, and both of the Counterattack masteries.

Gear & Stats Build

Savage and Cruel set are the best combination for Genbo’s role as an Arena Nuker.

Ideally, at least 4k Attack, 70% Crit Rate, 200%+ Crit Damage, and enough speed to match your arena speed team without getting cut. Genbo is unique as a nuker in that he has an ability to place a 30% Increase Crit Rate buff on himself which allows him to be built with only 70% Crit Rate opening up more options for gear. If you are unable to build the recommended stats in Savage and Cruel set, any combination of offensive sets such as Offense, Crit Damage, Cruel, Fatal, etc can be used instead. This is example of such build. The reason this build has a low speed is due to the Arena team where a double TM Booster in Arbiter and Lyssandra is used.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Crit Damage %
  • Chest: Attack %
  • Boots: Speed / Attack %
  • Ring: Attack %
  • Amulet: Crit Damage %
  • Banner: Attack %

Arena Team & Strategy

Genbo is a great nuking option in the current arena meta where the annoying Swift Parry sets and unkillable are popular. He can self buff to increase his Crit Rate and Crit Damage but must be under an Increase Attack Buff to ignore unkillable buffs, so he must be paired with any champion that can provide that buff like Arbiter, Gorgorab, Seeker, etc.

He is also immune to Decrease Attack that might be applied to him. While he can hit hard, he is not among the top Arena Nukers so, he might not always hit hard enough for the tankiest of teams. He also does a single hit AOE so you should be careful using him against Rotos. His main utility is his ability to ignore the unkillable buffs. Additionally, his AI does not work as well on auto as he occasionally does not use his A3 self buff before attacking. Most likely due to the AI thinking that it’ll get the kills regardless, so make sure you either set the AI overrides correctly to A3 in the first round or manually play him in arena.

  • Archmage Helmut for his Buffs and CC against the waves.
