Raid Shadow Legends: Foli Champion Guide

Foli is a legendary magic affinity champion from the dark elves faction in Raid Shadow Legends. With the introduction of Rotos, Foli soon rose to be one of the best arena champions in the game. He is able to take out entire teams, if they have a decrease defense applied on them (and foli has an increase attack). However, Foli’s main use is only real in the arena, anywhere else and he will be classed as a low to mid tier champion, difficult to keep alive in dungeons but can deal some good damage. He is not well suited to clan boss as his passive doesn’t allow him to play as a stun target. Likewise, he is not suited to Sorath in the Doom Tower as he is difficult to freeze. In this guide we will provide details on how best to build Foli for end game arena runs.

Foli End Game Arena Guide

Foli can be a good arena nuker. His damage is high and he can be built in multiple ways. His A3 has block revive and this makes him viable even in platinum arena even if his nuke is not the strongest in the game.

Foli’s passive gives him a good advantage against crowd control debuffs. If you’re using him as your main nuker you should consider booking his main skills.

Masteries

In terms of end game masteries, [Helmsmasher] is the key one for this champion (provided you can get Crit Damage over 220%), along with [Ruthless Ambush] and [Heart of Glory] for his first attack A3 nuke. You can choose either support tree to try and land his Defence Down and Leech debuffs or defence tree for a chance to counter attack via the retribution mastery.

At this stage of the game your equipment will matter for Foli more than most t5 masteries.

Gear & Stats Build

It is most common to speed tune Foli to a speed team (see video, and see speed tune guide [1]), where 2 speed boosters boost the TM of all champions, followed by AOE defence down and Foli A3 nuke.

For this speed tune reason, you may need a reasonably high speed. Nonetheless the default recommendation is savage set, that is best in slot for damage dealers in platinum arena in most cases.

You may need speed gear if your savage gear cannot achieve the right speed and damage stats as is the case of the featured build.

Recommended Main Stats:

  • Glove: Crit Damage
  • Chest: Atk%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: Atk
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: Atk or Acc

In terms of banner choice, if you are building a pure damage build, attack is preferred as you generally have other champions to land AOE Defence down for Foli.

Arena Tactics

Foli can operate in a number of ways in the Arena:

  1. [Speed Tune] Foli is usually the last to take his turn after AOE Defence Down is placed. His Ai will prioritise A3 in most situations, so it is safe to use him in auto. His block revives are effective if his A3 can kill all enemy damage champions.
  2. [Anti Crowd Control] His passive will remove any stun, freeze, sleep, or provoke and boost his TM by 50%, which allows Foli to get a turn very quickly. This makes him an effective counter CC champion, against Tormin for example (his A3 block revive is particular useful here). Note that the passive has a cooldown.
  3. [Single Target] Foli has an extremely impressive single target damage capability, due to his 4 hit A1, 4 hit A2, and 2 hit A3, focusing a huge amount of damage on a single target if used.

Arena Challenges

Foli is not without his issues and there are many challenges:

  1. His A3 damage is not one of the highest and high defence teams or shield teams will be able to mitigate his damage. Champions that are force, have high defence, or damage mitigation (e.g., Bulwark mastery or ally protect) will easily survive the A3 nuke.
  2. Foli is extremely fragile without any significant survival capabilities, which means it is mostly a kill or be killed situation. This makes the rest of the team all the more important to make him shine
