Raid Shadow Legends: Drexthar Bloodtwin Champion Guide

Drexthar Bloodtwin is a legendary force affinity champion from the demonspawn faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is a brilliant champion to have unlocked on your account with a wide variety of uses and utility. He takes a prominent place through-out various stages of account progression, from mid game to end game content. Drexthar has an interesting passive effect, whereby enemies that attack him will be burnt, this makes him arguably the best tank for spiderlings in the game. He is strong in all dungeons due to his AoE provoke and high base defence. His accuracy aura makes him great for Clan Boss and his HP bun makes him efficient for doom tower waves and bosses.

Drexthar Mid Game Guide

Drexthar is an amazing champion that can be useful everywhere. If you are lucky enough to have him for your midgame, he’ll be of huge help. If not – make sure to aquire his fragments from 3×3 Bazaar every day. You can select a 1 champion Defence to farm enough gold bars every day and eventually get him.

All of his kit is useful. His Aura provides accuracy in all content and may be useful for mid-game accounts. His A1 has three hits, making him a good candidate for Giant Slayer T6 mastery if you need extra damage on clan boss and in dungeons. It applies the HP burn debuff and provides some healing if the burn is present on the target.

Skills

A2 features AOE provoke that has a 100% chance to land if the targets are already under HP burn. Furthermore, it places a Decrease Atk debuff and deals respectable amounts of damage.

His passive is what makes him an especially valuable asset. When hit, Drexthar has a chance to place a HP burn debuff on attacker. His resistance increases up to 50 depending on the number of enemies under HP burn.

It is especially important that the passive will work on any affinity of attackers. It’s drawback is that the enemies need to actively target Drexthar. This can be used to your advantage on Spirit affinity enemies, especially in Spider Dungeon and Nether Spider in Doom Tower in the late game.

Masteries

The masteries in the featured build include the usual suspects: Crit rate and crit damage, standard damage masteries in the offense tree that can benefit clan boss champions. If you are using Drexthar in clan boss you will want to select Giant Slayer as the final T6 Mastery for extra damage and healing (combo with lifesteal).

In the support tree Accuracy buffing masteries have been selected. Sniper is an especially important pick. It doesn’t benefit the provocation on A2, but improves the placement of HP Burn on the passive. If you are struggling with accuracy you can select Eagle Eye as the final mastery instead of Giant Slayer.

Gear & Stats Build

Drexthar is quite flexible in terms of gear. He needs enough Accuracy to place the debuffs. For dungeons 15 he would need at least 150 to feel comfortable. Note that he is used as the leader with his aura in this showcase. If you are not using him as the lead you need to increase the Accuracy accordingly.

His damage scales with DEF and benefits from having lots of it. You want him to be the target and have less HP. At the same time you want Drexthar to survive.

Lifesteal is a good set to ensure survivability in all mid-game content. Any other set combination can work for him including Perception, Immortal, Speed, Accuracy and others.

Spider 15

Drexthar works best in Spider dungeon and that’s where we’ll start. You want spiderlings to attack Drexthar as much as possible to apply HP burn to all of them (they burn the big Spider with each individual tick). There are a few tips to keep in mind:

  1. Negative and Neutral affinity are your friends. Spirit, Void and Force levels are best, Magic affinity may be a problem for this strategy.
  2. Ideally the big Spider doesn’t take turns and doesn’t heal by consuming spiderlings. Turn Meter reduction is your friend.
  3. Crowd Control has to be used carefully. Drexthar needs the spiderlings to attack him to be effective. If they’re stunned or frozen they can’t do so.

Team Build

  1. Drexthar applies the HP burn and is the main damage engine in this comp.
  2. Two armigers ensure that the Big Spider doesn’t take too many turns. Note that due to being positive affinity they’re not being targeted by the spiderlings.
  3. Stag Knight provides AOE ATK Down and DEF Down for extra survivability and damage as well as Decrease Speed on the big Spider.
  4. Steelskull provides healing, cleanse and DEF increase buff for survivability.

Dragon 15

Drexthar can be used against Dragon dungeon waves efficiently. His provoke ability allows Drexthar to take the heat off the squishy champions during the runs. In this showcase he is paired with rares to showcase his usefullness.

Team Build

  1. Drexthar in the lead for aura, provoke on the waves. Note that his damage could have been much higher with Giant Slayer.
  2. Warmaiden places DEF down on the mobs to speed up the runs. Being negative affinity hurts her on Dragon 15.
  3. Apothecary provides TM boost and speed buff as well as emergency healing.
  4. Reliquary Tender removes the debuffs and revives if things go South.
  5. Frozen Banshee has just one goal – to place the poisons on Dragon to efficiently deal massive damage over time
drexthar dragon 15

Fire Knight 15

Fire Knight is another dungeon where Drexthar feels at home. His A1 hits thrice, making him good at bringing the shield down. Some wave control is also welcome.

Team Build

  1. Warmaiden is in the composition for DEF Down that makes the enemies easier to defeat.
  2. Reliquary Tender provides debuff removal and revive.
  3. Apothecary has a 3 hit A1 and provide TM boosts and speed.
  4. Coldheart is the MVP with 4 hit A1, full TM depletion and Heal Reduction debuff
drexthar fire knight 15

Ice Golem 15

The final featured dungeon 15 for midgame is Ice Golem. IG is one of the less frequently farmed ones. The main key is to have as many poisons and HP burns on the enemies, because the boss doesn’t counterattack if the thresholds of his HP are passed with that kind of damage.

Team Build

  1. Drexthar provides waves control and AOE HP burn
  2. Frozen Banshee provides poison damage on the boss
  3. Reliquary Tender removes the debuffs and resurrects
  4. Stag Knight provides AOE DEF Down, Atk Down and Decrease speed
  5. Athel here provides some AOE Damage, but can be easily replaced.

Drexthar Late Game Guide

Drexthar is a Force Affinity Legendary Champion from the Demonspawn Faction that all players can obtain for free through fragments from the 3v3 Bazaar.

It is highly recommended to buy his fragment every day and eventually summon him as his usefulness has risen dramatically since the release of Doom Tower. Note that his fragment in the Bazaar have a 24 hour cooldown so you have it buy it every day for 100 days. Don’t wait until you have all the points needed to buy all 100 before buying his fragment as this is mistake made by a number of people in our experience.

Skills

If you are lucky enough to get Drexthar before your Arbiter missions he can helpful in all dungeons for progression. Booking Drexthar is not necessary but his effectiveness will improve with books. The Drexthar shown in this guide is not booked.

Masteries

For Masteries, Offense and Support Trees are recommended for Drexthar. In the Offense Tree take Crit Rate, Crit Damage and Lifedrinker down to the T6 Giantslayer since he has a triple hit A1. In the Support Tree, take the Accuracy masteries and all the two right hand options to improve his debuff placing capabilities.

Drexthar can be flexible with his masteries should you wish to select Eagle Eye as the alternative T6 mastery or choose the Defence Tree as the secondary tree if you have enough accuracy on your gear.

Gear & Stats Build

Drexthar has a high damage multiplier on his AOE ability and can nuke waves in a Defensive style team so, you want to instead build Drexthar to do damage rather than to tank and place his passive HP Burn (Except for Spider).

You can either build Drexthar with 100% Crit Rate, around 200%+ Crit Damage, 4k+ Defense, and 200+ Accuracy to still land his Debuffs. Finally, a decent amount of speed of at least 180+ is recommended. Alterntatively, if you don’t have enough stats you can opt in for pure DEF/HP build.

You can use any sets on him that can help you achieve the recommended stats such as Defense, Perception, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, Speed, etc.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Crit Rate %/Crit Damage %
  • Chest: Def %
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: Def
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: Accuracy

Spider 20

Drexthar is one of the best champions to use as an off-affinity Spider 20 Tank strategy. He is negative affinity in Spider 20 and as long as you don’t have any other champion that is off affinity, the Spiderlings will target Drexthar.

With the spiderlings attacking Drexthar he can passively place HP Burn on them and the next time they take a turn, they will deal damage to the main Spider. Your other 4 champions should be entirely dedicated to support of this strategy for maximum efficiency.

Team Build

  1. Drexthar
  2. Armiger
  3. Apothecary
  4. 2x Coldheart

In this team, Apothecary is used to Heal Drexthar when he gets low and Speed up the team. Two Coldhearts and an Armiger are used entirely to control the Spider’s Turn Meter. There is no Decrease Defense or Weaken in this team so, their Max Hp Damage doesn’t deal as much damage. Most of the damage will be from Drexthar’s HP Burn.

Drexthar build for Spider should be similar to the Doom Tower build (High Resistance, around 240 for Spider 20) since his purpose here is not to do damage through his regular hits.

Drexthar Spider 20

Dragon 20

Drexthar has a very good damage multiplier on his AOE ability so if you build Defense-based teams, he can be a really good damage dealer for your dungeon team. Furthermore, the Provoke ability is useful for all the dungeons with waves of enemies. This is an example of an all Defense-based team for Dragon 20.

Team Build

  1. Drexthar
  2. Tayrel
  3. Godseeker Aniri
  4. Mauseoleum Mage
  5. Wurlim Frostking

We have Tayrel for AOE Defense Down, Wurlim for his buffs, Godseeker for heals and revive in case anyone dies, and buff extension. All these Champion are defense based and also deal a good amount of damage themselves. Mausoleum Mage for his Defensive Buffs to increase your Defense-based champion’s damage before they nuke, Heals, and Cleanse.

As you can see, this team does not have any poisoner and takes down the Dragon entirely from dealing Raw Damage. Defense-based champions build high defense for their damage which also naturally increases their survivability, so they are much easier to keep alive then Attack based champion. They are in no danger of dying throughout the entire fight.

If you would like to use a more standard team you can include a poisoner of the correct affinity and keep them alive until you reach the boss stage to take the dragon down.

drexthar dragon 20

Fire Knight 20

Similarly for Fire Knight 20, Drexthar provides the same AOE damage dealing ability in a Defense-based team, but he also provides additional utility here with hit 3-hit A1 to quickly take down the Fire Knight’s shield. This is an example of a team for Fire Knight 20.

Team Build

  1. Stag Knight for AOE Attack, Defense Down and Decrease Speed.
  2. Godseeker for heals, revive in case anyone dies, buff extension and DPS.
  3. Mausoleum Mage for his Supportive Buffs which also increase the Damage of Defense Based Champions, Heal, and Cleanse.
  4. Coldheart as the usual top champion for FK 20 with her multi-hit A1, Max HP Nuke and full TM depletion.

As you can see, this team does not have a way to permanently keep the FK’s shield down but the combination of CH and Drexthar’s multi-hit are able to take down the shield very quickly when it gets back up.

Drexthar End Game Guide

Drexthar is a Force Affinity Legendary Champion from the Demonspawn Faction that all players can obtain for free through fragments from the 3v3 Bazaar. Drexthar is one of the best DPS champions for 3 out of the 6 Doom Tower Bosses: Nether Spider, Griffon and Eternal Dragon due to his ability to passively place HP burn on hit. This is important as there are many other champions who can place AOE HP Burn, but they are usually on a cooldown skill and these 3 bosses have ways to negate the effectiveness of those AOE HP Burn skills with their abilities. Nether Spiderlings have Counterattack preventing champion AI from using their AOE abilities, Griffon removes Debuffs on itself, and Eternal Dragon blocks skill cooldowns.

Skills

Booking Drexthar is not necessary but his effectiveness will improve with books. The Drexthar shown in this guide is not booked. This end game guide will feature Drexthar as the main DPS for the three Hard Doom Tower Bosses mentioned above.

Gearing Drexthar for Hard Doom Tower Bosses is quite specific. The most important stats to have on him are Accuracy and Resistance. At least 350 Resistance is recommended to reliably resist most of the DT Bosses abilities unless you have excellent supporting champions and revivers aplenty. Similarly for accuracy at least 350 is recommended, however Drexthar has an amazing 70 Accuracy aura for all battles so if you use him as your lead, you can account for that in your build to lower the requirements.

High HP, Defense and Speed are another priority. Around 50k HP, 4k Defense and 220 Speed are recommended. You can ignore Crit rate and Crit damage since he will not be doing significant damage through his regular hits.

For sets, the Regeneration set is useful to give him a constant source of self-healing since he needs to tank hits to proc his Passive HP Burn. You can use any other 2-piece set to achieve the recommended stats such as Resistance, Accuracy, Speed, Perception.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Def %/ HP %
  • Chest: Accuracy/Resistance
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: HP/Def
  • Amulet: HP/Def
  • Banner: Accuracy/Resistance

Nether Spider

With the change to the Nether Spider’s boss mechanic where full TM reduction strategies are no longer viable, AOE HP Burn strategies are now one of the best strategies to deal with this Boss. Unfortunately, due to this Boss’ mechanic of placing Counterattack of the spiderlings, all champions that places AOE HP Burn through an AOE attack will not use their ability here because the spiderlings’ counterattack will heal the main boss leading to nullification of the HP burn damage. Champions that place HP Burn unconventionally Like Drexthar rise to the forefront in this case as Drexthar places HP Burn when attacked through his passive

Team Build

  1. Drexthar
  2. Scyl of the Drakes
  3. Mausoleum Mage
  4. Runekeeper Dazdurk
  5. Doompriest

The team showcased is built survive through the constant spider Poisons through multiple AOE Cleanses in Mausoleum Mage and Runekeeper Dazdurk, and constant heals and revive in case anyone dies from Scyl of the Drakes. Doompriest provides a little bit of both with single debuff removal and a small heal each turn. All the damage will come from the HP Burns thar Drexthar places whenever he gets attacked making it a reliable auto team for farming.

Celestial Griffin

Team Build

The team used for Hard Stage 90 Celestial Griffin is as follows:

  1. Rotos and Drexthar are the main DPS of the team.
  2. Scyl provides support to the team with her constant heals, increase speed, and emergency revives.
  3. Doompriest provides additional support with her heals and cleanses the debuffs placed or transferred to your team each turn.
  4. Norog provides passive team damage reduction and is a secondary DPS for the Boss. His passive is even more effective here at providing the full 25% damage reduction because the Griffin constantly strips buffs.

The team does enough DPS to take down the Griffin even before it reaches the max Sky Bond stacks.

drexthar celestial griffin

Eternal Dragon

Team Build

The team used for Hard Stage 120 Eternal Dragon is as follows:

  1. Drexthar is the main damage dealer through his AOE HP Burns
  2. Scyl provides support to the team with her constant heals, increase speed, AOE stuns, and emergency revives. Scyl is built with a high enough resistance to resist all the Dragon’s Skill Cooldown affecting abilities so, she can still CC the minions and revive dead allies.
  3. Norog provide passive team damage reduction from the Dragon’s Hard hitting AOE and is a secondary DPS.
  4. Jareg places Decrease Attack debuff on the boss to reduce incoming damage and places a Continuous Heal buff on your team after taking the Dragon’s hard hitting AOE.
  5. Vrask provides additional team healing since the heal from Scyl and Jareg is not enough to sustain the team.
eternal dragon drexthar

Frost Spider

Frost Spider Gear

Drexthar also has a very specific build for Frost Spider. The most important stats to have on him for the Frost Spider is Accuracy. The Frost Spider has an extremely high Resistance of 580 when it’s not under an HP burn and you need at least that much accuracy to reliably place HP burn on it. Keep in mind that Drexthar has an amazing 70 Accuracy aura in all battles so if you use him as your lead, you can account for that aura in your build.

Drexthar needs to survive with HP, Defense and some Speed being the next priority after Accuracy. Around 35k HP, 4k Defense and 180 Speed are recommended. You can ignore Crit rate and Crit damage since he will not be doing any damage through his hits. All he is used for is his HP Burn.

Perception and Accuracy sets for this build are highly recommended to meet the extreme accuracy requirement as well as Eagle Eye T6 mastery. Her recommended main stats are as follows:

  • Glove: Def %
  • Chest: Accuracy
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: HP/Def
  • Amulet: HP/Def
  • Banner: Accuracy
drexthar frost spider

Frost Spider Team Build

Drexthar is a great option for a sole DPS on the Frost Spider. His main role is to constantly apply his HP Burn onto the Frost Spider through his A1 or after getting hit from his passive. The HP Burn ticks will eventually kill the Frost Spider and prevent it’s revival. This means you need to build a team that can survive the long battle until the spider burns to death. This is an example of a team used for Stage 120 Hard Frost Spider:

  1. We have Drexthar providing HP Burn as the main source of damage.
  2. Scyl of the Drakes for a constant source of healing, some CC stuns for the Spiderlings, Decrease Speed and some TM control on the main Spider, and revives in case anyone dies.
  3. Mausoleum Mage provides supportive buffs, occasionally block debuffs, with a Heal and Cleanse.
  4. Doompriest provides a constant source of healing and a debuff removal every turn.
  5. Lydia provides some debuffs, and buffs for the team. Lydia is actually not crucial to this team and is replaceable with any other support, healer, Cleanser or CC champion.
