Raid Shadow Legends: Candraphon Champion Guide

Candraphon is a legendary force affinity champion from the demonspawn faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is one of the best arena nukers we’ve ever had the pleasure of using in Raid. You’ll want to gear him with high crit rate, crit damage and atk for the arena, but we’ll get more in to that later on in this guide. Furthermore, Candraphon is also a great champion for faction wars, if he is paired with Duchess, the two make an extremely powerful pairing.

Candraphon End Game Guide

Candraphone is probably the most vicious go-second nuker in the current Platinum Arena metagame.

Skills

Candraphone addresses one of the hardest issue for a go-second team: how do we balance enough defence to survive and still do enough damage to win? Whilst building strong defensive champions are a solution, Candraphone is one of the few attack champions (e.g. Rotos) that can do insane damage while having great survival skills. His abilities provide excellent potential for this:

  1. [Veiled Defence] A4 passive places Perfect Veil (cannot be targeted and receives 15% less aoe damage) when enemy TM is filled – ideal for a go second team. Furthermore, he receives +40% less damage when veiled. This is equivalent to a 49% aoe damage reduction and can’t be targeted.
  2. [Force Affinity] Force affinity makes him better against magic nukers (Trunda, Foli, Rae).
  3. [Vicious Damager] When Candra is protected by Veil his damage is increased by 40% – this means his multipliers are: A1) double hit =12x, and A2) 7.4x. He also gains TM when damaged under veil, so his speed does not need to be too fast. He is especially effective when counter attacking using his A1 on buffed enemy champions – often hitting for 2x 120k damage on Defence champions.

Masteries

Candraphone masteries are selected to boost his damage and rely on team mates and gear to provide sufficient damage reduction to survive the first volley from the enemies.

[Helmsmasher] is the key T6 mastery. In Late Game+ setting and especially when gearing for Platinum it’s assumed you’re able to reach at the very least 100% Crit Rate, 250%+ Crit Damage along other stats. In those circumstances Helmsmasher provides the best possible DPS increase out of all available masteries. If you’re below 220% Crit Damage consider selecting Flawless Execution for more consitency.

[Ruthless Ambush] and [Bring it Down] are great for the initial A2 nuke. [Retribution] and [Deterrence] are the target defence tree masteries to maximize counter attack opportunities using his amazing A1.

Gear & Stats Build

It is most common to build Candraphone for Platinum Arena in either Swift Parry for a survival go-second team (see videos) or in Savage. The secondary set should be cruel if you can manage it.

No accuracy is required and try to not worry about speed in a go-second setup. Therefore, if no speed tuning or accuracy is needed, full damage build should aim for 5-6k attack, 260+% crit damage, 200ish speed, and of course 100% crit rate, making this build reasonably easy to achieve for end game players.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Crit Damage
  • Chest: Atk%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: Atk
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: Atk

Candraphone can benefit from the new jewellery that refreshes skills and reaction. However, it’s not required for him and he can manage perfectly without.

Candra in the Arena

Candra is largely operated as a go-second nuker because his damage comes from being under Veil. There are two ways to do so:

  1. Go 2nd and get veil from enemy TM boost
  2. Have another faster champion like Duchess veil him.

As duchess is currently more advantageous for defensive teams in arena (good defence stats), Candra is an ideal go-second nuker with duchess or Rector. Some of the potential compositions are shown below

Team Compositions

Defensive Go second Team

Counter Attack Team

Here the idea is to cut into the enemy faster team, then put counter attack on candra and enable this to happen twice with Kymar.

Counter Nuke Hegemon Team

Here the idea is to have everyone except Krisk/Maulie in immunity and then attack the enemy on the counter. Usually many nukers have survival issues against nuke hegemons but not Candra.

Candra in Faction Wars

One of the areas where Candraphone can be useful is Faction Wars. The problem stems from the champions that are Spirit Affinity that can cause him to weak hit. Without the support of a champion like Lilitu, Candraphone is not the strongest pick for crypt 21.

However, if you do happened to have both champions available you can rely on them to safely pass this stage.

Team Compositions

  1. Lilitu for Veil and revive.
  2. Candraphone for dps.
  3. Tarshon for Weaken and Increase DEF.
  4. Alure for TM control of the boss.
  5. Umbral Enchantress as the key AOE Provoke on the Valkyrie waves and Block Buffs champion

Dungeon Runs

Dragon 20

Dragon 20 is one of the most popular dungeons. Candraphone can work well as a wave clearer in this setting. There are two versions for consideration. The first is a more budget team in an end game setting.

Team Build

  1. Candraphone for the Aura and AOE attack.
  2. Dracomorph for AOE DEF Down and Weaken as well as poisons for the boss stage.
  3. Quargan for the Veil buff.
  4. Arbiter for TM boost and emergency revive.
  5. Renegade for Skills refresh.

If you have a packed roster you can also speed run by replacing Quargan with a second Draco.

Dragon 25

Candraphone is a possible choice for Dragon 25 dungeon. In the featured team:

  1. Rector Drath provides Veil and revive.
  2. Candraphone provides the DPS.
  3. Dracomorph applies AOE DEF Down and Weaken as well as Poisons for the boss stage.
  4. Quargan has Veil and healing capabilities.
  5. Brogni has a shield and buffs that increase the chances of survival

Fire Knight 20

Fire Knight 20 is another area where Candraphone can help with the wave clearing, in this end game team composition. The ideal team build is as follows:

  1. Candraphone for the Aura and AOE attack.
  2. Zargala for AOE DEF Down and damage.
  3. Quargan for the Veil buff.
  4. Visix for the TM reduction, Speed Decrease Debuff and AOE Provoke.
  5. Coldheart for 4 hit A1, TM depletion and MAX HP nuke.

Note that you need sufficient dps and speed if you’re attempting to replicate this run without a revive champion
