Raid Shadow Legends: Bad-El-Kazar Champion Guide

Bad-El-Kazar is a legendary force affinity champion from the Undead Hordes faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He has long been one of raids best champions and provides a lot of utility to various teams around the game, he is also great for soloing end game content, of which we will provide details in this guide. His A2 has the ability to both poison and heal, while his A1 AOE hits enemies while also healing the team and himself. The combination of both healing and dealing offensive damage is what makes him great for soloing in ice golem 25 or dragon 25.

He has a variety of different options when it comes to build types, from reflex, speed, perception, cruel, stalwart and more. In fact one of his strongest is relentless, which we cover in depth later on in this guide, showing how it can be beneficial in different scenarios.

Bad-El-Kazar Late Game+ Guide

Bad El Kazar (BEK) is considered one of the best legendaries in the game. He is useful in many areas throughout the account progression. This build is focused on a Late Game+ approach featuring him in a variety of areas.

Skills

BEK’s base attack stat and A1 multiplier are quite low and therefore it’s not advised to maximise the damage from his A1 skill. However, his A2 will deliver 2 poison stacks for 2 turns on a 3-turn cooldown (when booked) as well as 2 continuous heal buffs. As both parts of this skill are the main engine of BEK, it’s strongly advised to focus on the support tree masteries, going for Master Hexer for more debuff application and Lasting Gifts for extra turns on the buffs.

Masteries

As BEK is not often used in arena, no crazy RES/ACC stats are required. If you can meet the required stats in the gear section, go for the Offence tree and get the T6 mastery Warmaster. This helps in getting the dungeon bosses down faster every run. These masteries can also be used for CB fights making it easier. When using these masteries for clan boss battles, make sure to skip “cycle of magic” as it may throw your stun-cleanse off timing in the speed tune.

Although BEK doesn’t need books on his A1, it is highly recommended to book his A2 as the decrease in Cooldowns is very important, especially for speed farming dungeons.

Gear & Stats Build

This Bad El Kazar Guide will focus on using him with decent gear, but nothing too hard to acquire. This gear will apply to most PvE situations, although in our relentless guide the setup will change.

For this section we will look at the gear used to for several different purposes, including solo farming Dragon and Ice Golem 20. For this reason, some stats may not apply to what you want to use him for and you can change your stats around that if you wish.

Recommended Stats

  • 70k HP – For soloing D20/IG20.
  • 2k+ Defense – You may want to drop his Health in exchange for more if you’re using him for Clan Boss.
  • 220+ Speed.
  • 220+ Accuracy (Tailor it to your level of content but 220 is safe for a large portion of PvE).
  • 240+ Resistance – Only recommended for Soloing Dragon 20 and Ice Golem 20

Recommended Sets

  • He doesn’t need any Sets but if you’re aiming to solo content, Reflex and Relentless are good options, as well as using Immortal and Regen sets.
  • If you’re looking to go into Clan Boss, the best set is Stalwart as it provides a significant amount of damage reduction.
  • Perception is always a good choice on BEK.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves: HP% (Provides a lot of tankiness when soloing content) – Crit Damage for Clan Boss or if you want to use him for damage.
  • Chest: Accuracy
  • Boots: Speed (for pretty much all content) – you can use HP%/Def% instead if you plan to use him in a 1:1 team and can get the Speeds you need.
  • Ring: HP
  • Amulet: HP
  • Banner: Accuracy

Clan Boss Setup

For this first showcase, we will look at Bad-El in a more traditional Clan Boss team. Although Unkillable teams are dominating Clan Boss meta at the moment if you’re not lucky enough to have AOE unkillable champions or need a cleanser, BEK can be quite useful

For the team we are using, the gear is accessible, the team is also Speed Tuned to go 1:1 which is by modern standards pretty slow, but this does make this type of team very obtainable and cheap gear-wise.

When looking at this team, there are a couple of things to note. The first is, Bad-El is tuned to go after the Clan Boss so he will cleanse the Stun. Valkyrie can help 1 key, but she can be replaced by Skullcrusher or Martyr, her main role here is just to provide AOE Counter Attack, but even this is less important now since we have Counter Attack Accessories from the Clan Shop. Also, this team is missing Warmaster on Jareg, lowering our damage by about 4-6 million.

Team Build

  1. Tomb Lord – He was brought for Poisons, and also since the Clan Boss was Force, it would mean Jareg is weak hitting his A1 sometimes, and letting Attack Down fall off can spell and end of the CB run on Nightmare and Ultra-Nightmare. Decrease Defence is also a requirement for sufficient DPS on CB.
  2. Jareg – Main Attack Down and Ally Protect keeps everyone alive for much longer. Increase DEF is important for Valkyrie shield maximization.
  3. Geomancer – Our main damage dealer. There are plenty of other champions that can be used here, Ninja is one example. Also with Counter Attack, Champions like Frozen Banshee become much better.
  4. Valkyrie – As explained above, she is mainly here for the Counter Attack buff, since we are going 1:1 for every CB AoE. Her shield does help, but in this showcase she isn’t built with a lot of Defense. Skullcrusher could be better as double Ally Protect is amazing for Clan Boss.

Bad-El-Kazar Dungeons Runs

Dragon 20

BEK can solo Dragon 20. If you’re using him as a solo farmer for Dragon and Ice Golem 21, you may want to take the “Spirit Haste” mastery that provides additional Speed for each dead ally instead of Lasting Gifts. This isn’t required, but it will help make the runs faster and smoother, as he will be getting more turns and apply more Poisons.

There isn’t much to note about Bad El solo farming, the biggest thing is not to overlook Resistance, as there are a lot of nasty Debuffs. Dragon waves have lots of Stuns, and Ice Golem has Decrease Defense and Healing Reduction. One key thing to keep in mind is that often you won’t be able to put up enough Poisons to be taking down the Dragon’s purple Shield, so BEK will take the Stun and damage (you can negate this if you use things like Refresh Accessories, Relentless etc…). This however isn’t a bad thing, since we have built him very tanky and fast, he can sustain the hits, alongside Dragon 20 being favorable Affinity to him.

bad-el-kazar solo dragon 20

Ice Golem 21

For Ice Golem 21, it’s almost identical to Dragon, the big difference are the Debuffs. In Dragon, you need to face Stuns which are a pain, but Ice Golem minions place Decrease Defense and Heal Reduction instead, which can be more lethal than Stun.

Luckily BEK does naturally remove them when he uses his A2, but be careful of these being applied as the boss slams you with Decrease Defense up, can potentially kill him instantly. The reason we are running Stage 21 is for 2 main reasons. The first is Affinity, Stage 21 is positive Affinity for BEK. The other is that on Stage 20, (Besides being Negative Affinity) there are Champions that cleanse and Block Debuffs. This makes the run a lot slower, and also a lot scarier.

Bad-el-Kazar solo ice golem 21

Spider 20

Ending this section on a fun interaction with BEK, his passive. While an enemy is Poisoned, they take 20% more Damage, this is basically another Weaken. The quickest and easiest strategy to killing Spider 20 is using Champions that hit for Max HP, hitting incredibly hard. This run shows what stacking Damage looks like, with Bad El Kazar, and Lydia providing Decrease Defense and Weaken.

Team Build

  • Royal Guards + Coldheart – As mentioned, these are our Max HP hit Champions, they are built for Damage to kill the boss. Between the 3 of them, they should only need to take 1 turn. When combining the 20% more damage from BEK, and the 25% more damage from Lydia’s Weaken, along with the biggest damage increase, 60% Decrease Defense. These 3 Champions melt the boss in 10-20 Seconds.
  • Lydia – She provides our Decrease Defense and Weaken. There are other Champions that can do this, Spider and Fayne are 2 Epics that can do this without a problem if you don’t have Lydia. Ghostborn is the preferred option if you can hit hard enough without weaken as he provides more consistency

Dragon 25

Firstly, BEK can solo Dragon 25 and Ice Golem 25, the 2 main gear Sets used is Frenzy or Regen. This guide won’t cover this method as the gear requirement to do this is very very high. Instead we will be looking at BEK as the carry in more budget teams to help make these runs smooth.

There is nothing special you need to know about Dragon 25 and Bad-El. His Skill Kit is very straight forward, he provides a lot of sustain for your team, and plenty of damage with his Poisons which kill the enemies relatively fast since it deals a percent of their Health.

Team Build

  1. Bellower – He is in a Stun Set, providing most of our Crowd Control for the waves. You can use many Champions to do this role, Scyl herself can do this pretty effectively.
  2. Scyl – She is our main Crowd Control, with Bad-El on the team, we don’t really need a healer, but having a Revive in case something goes bad is very useful.
  3. Kael – More Poison damage, both for the waves and the boss. You can use pretty much any damage dealer you want here though.
  4. Reliquary Tender – Very similar to Scyl, provides another Revive in case something goes wrong, and a decent amount of healing, which again isn’t vital with BEK on the team.
Bad-el-Kazar dragon 25

Ice Golem 25

The Ice Golem 25 run is effectively identical to the Dragon 25 run. The only thing that has been changed is we bring in Spider over Kael. The main reason for this is because the boss hits so hard, we want to ensure we can keep Decrease Attack on him. For this reason you can use Stag Knight, or Serris instead, among many other options.

BEK cleanses are more important here than Dragon, but he will naturally rotate through his A2 on Auto which makes him a really nice Champ. Once again, he makes the run very smooth and easy. Especially since the big slams that Ice Golem does, can be avoided if he goes below the threshold to trigger them on his own turn, and Poisons being our main source of damage naturally do this.

Team Build

  1. Bellower – He is in a Stun Set, providing most of our Crowd Control for the waves. You can use many Champions to do this role, Scyl herself can do this pretty effectively.
  2. Scyl – She is a lot of our Crowd Control, with Bad-El on the team, we don’t really need a healer, but having a Revive in case something goes bad is very useful.
  3. Spider – As mentioned, mainly here for the Decrease Attack, you can use many other Champs in replace of him, like Stag Knight, Peydma, Serris, etc.
  4. Reliquary Tender – Very similar to Scyl, provides another Revive in case something goes wrong, and a decent amount of healing, which again isn’t vital with BEK on the team.

Faction Wars 21

Undead isn’t a super hard Faction Wars, since half of the Faction is considered amazing, potentially the best Faction, alongside Demonspawn. Although there are 2 main problems you’ll face when trying to 3 star it. The first and biggest problem is often the 2nd Wave which has 3 Valk’s. The second is this is the boss that’s notorious for just instantly killing any Champion he targets.

To combat the first issue, there are a few ways to work around it, Block Buffs, Decrease Defense, Ignore Shield and Crowd Control are the main ways. In this showcase we use Suzerain which removes Shields and also Decrease Defense. however there are plenty of other options, Undead Hordes does have some pretty decent CC from Epics, including Vogoth and Husk. Also pretty much every Legendary for the Faction either has some form of Crowd Control or just hits incredibly hard.

The second problem is much easier to combat, the answer is typically to bring a Revive, as Undead lacks Ally Protection unless you have Nekhret or Urost (both Void Legendaries). So if you don’t have them, you’ll most likely want a Reviver, and the go to option is Gorgorab. If you don’t have him though, you could build a Grinner and have him very fast to solve this issue as well.

This faction isn’t hard to finish, it can be a bit annoying to 3* however since you’ll need to be Reviving a lot, which may means the fight ends with someone dead.

Team Build

  1. Husk – A lot of Damage, and some Crowd Control for the Valkyrie waves.
  2. Siphi – Mainly here as our Reviver, but the Block Debuffs is nice for the Boss. Just be aware that her A2 on the Valk wave can very quickly wipe you.
  3. Suzerain – He is the main Champ we use for dealing with the Valks, stripping their Shields and Decreasing Defense.
  4. Dark Elhain – Generic damage dealer position, you can use pretty much anyone you want.

Bad-el-Kazar Relentless Setup Guide

For the next section we will be swapping Bad-El’s gear to Relentless, however the Masteries will be the same.

Gear & Stats Build

It’s important to note that BEK needs to get as many turns as possible to spam A2 and relentless gear is best in slot for this. Reflex is an alternative, but less efficient. Refresh accessories may overlap and render a reflex proc obsolete. It’s important to note that without relentless/reflex gear you won’t defeat the dragon in time, failing your run. Therefore 1 of the 2 of them have to be equipped.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Chest: RES/ACC
  • Gloves: Def%/HP%
  • Boots: Speed
  • Ring: DEF/HP
  • Amulet: DEF/HP
  • Banner: ACC

Recommended Stats

  • Above 250 speed
  • At least 250 RES & ACC
  • Disregard A1 damage (ATK/CD stats)
  • 3k+ DEF and 40k+ HP for survivability

If you’re not using BEK for higher hard doom tower levels, this is sufficient. If you are planning to use him there 325-400 accuracy is the goal. This should allow you to land poisons on the frost spider when HP burn is active. 250-260 speed allows you to be faster than the fastest DT levels, and 2:1 against the bosses. 3k DEF and 40k HP are sufficient to manage all dungeons and the doom tower stage 120 frost spider.

Dungeon Runs with Relentless Setup

Dragon 25

For this first section in the Relentless setup, we will look at Bad-El in a pretty fast team clearing Dragon 25. In this team, his sole job is to apply the Poisons that kill the boss. We don’t care too much if the rest of the team dies, in-fact its generally better if they do as this means that the boss will take more turns (damage from Poisons) and Bad-El will be putting them up faster as well.

Team Build

This team uses a standard Seer type setup to quickly kill off the waves:

  1. Lydia – She provides us with 2 Buffs on everyone, which helps Seers damage, but also the Decrease Defense and Weaken are very big for being able to instantly kill the waves.
  2. Archmage – Lots of Buffs for Seer to eat to increase the Damage.
  3. Kymar – He is our Reset so we can instantly nuke the 2nd wave as well, Renegade and Yumeko can both do this role, Renegade is relatively accessible being a Rare.
  4. Seer – She eats all the Buffs on our team, and instantly kills the waves.
Bad-el-Kazar dragon 25 relentless setup

Ice Golem 25

For Ice Golem 25, the exact same concept applies as with Dragon 25. The only difference is you need to be careful when going into the Boss with Seer still alive, as if she nukes the boss with her A3, he can trigger his big Slam, its likely Bad-El can tank it, but just be aware of this. If it is a problem for you, its recommended to just disable Seers A3 in the 3rd Round.

Doom Tower with Relentless Setup

Secret Room 4

The last 2 Slides for this Guide will look at Bad-El in both Doom Tower Secret Rooms, and the Final Boss in Rotation 1 (Frost Spider). The first showcase will be him in Secret Room 4, in Rotation 3 (Dark Fae). This room requires Corrupted Alliance Champions (Demonspawn, Undead, Dark Elves, Knights Rev).

Team Build

This team uses a standard Seer type setup to quickly kill off the waves:

  1. Serris – She provides Buff Strips and there is a decent amount of Buffs in here, including Siphi. Although she isn’t required, just helps. The Decrease Defense also makes things faster.
  2. Psylar – Provides plenty of Crowd Control, making this a relatively safe run.
  3. Skullcrown – Alongside Bad-El does damage. Skullcrown is our main damage dealer, however you can just use Bad-El if you don’t have a damage dealer built for this.
  4. Umbral – More Crowd Control, on top of Psylar, this helps ensure the run is nice and easy.
Bad-el-Kazar secret room 4

Final Boss

Doom Tower is a less ideal place for BEK due to the nerf of the poison burst damage. However, this is the showcase and can be applied to the boss DT waves with the same effect.

Together with Elenaril this can be an auto-battle. Elenaril places HP burn that can’t be resisted, reducing the resistance of the boss. After that BEK can place his poisons on the spider and his adds. Once in a while Elenaril uses her poison explosion skill, dealing (capped) 10% max HP damage. Aside from that BEK will keep the team alive and remove the debuffs that the spider places.

Bad-el-Kazar Solo Ice Golem 25

Bad-el-Kazar (BeK) is one of the oldest solo specialist in Raid. Although for Dragon 25 there are now faster and less gear intensive options lately such as Teodor, Tomb Lord, Gnishak or even more accessible champs such as Akemtum or Orn, BeK is still one of the best Ice Golem solo farmers for stage 25.

Masteries

For this role, the most important tree is Support tree, you want to gain TM as fast as possible hence both Arcane Celerity and Rapid Response being picked as BeKplaces lots of debuffs and buffs at the same time. Oppressor T6 also serves this purpose. Secondary tree is not as important, you can either pick Offence for Whirlwind of Death for more speed after each kill or Defence tree for more damage mitigation. Blastproof is useful against the Dragon to survive a bit longer during the Scorch phase but is not actually needed for BeK.

Bad-el-Kazar solo ice golem 25 masteries

Gear & Stats Build

Since BeK has enough healing in his kit already, Regeneration is not needed for a solo build. The popular main sets are usually Frenzy to cycle through turns faster or Reflex to get his A2 back more often. The secondary set is usually Immortal for the small healing for safety and HP stat.

The build used here is Reflex + Immortal. This gear set fits BeK really well as he only has one active skill, making this set particularly effective for him. Like any solo build, you need HP, Defence, Speed and Resistance to ensure things go smoothly. Soloing Ice Golem 25 is very hard because of the second wave having Increase Attack and enemies boosting TM: you need high HP in order to survive through it.

Recommended Main Stats

Stats to aim for are: 80k+ HP, 3k+ Defence, 230+ Speed, 300+ Resistance and 200+ Accuracy.

  • Glove: HP%/Def%
  • Chest: HP%/Def%/Resistance
  • Boots: HP%/Speed
  • Ring: HP/Def
  • Amulet: HP/Def
  • Banner: Accuracy/HP/Def

For accessories, Refresh is best in slot to get more Continuous Heal and Poisons out.
