Archbishop Pinthroy End Game Build Guide

Archbishop Pinthroy is worth attention due to his universaly strong and diverse skills that can be helpful in many areas of the game. This guide will focus on Hydra fights, since all of his skills are directly tailored for this Boss and PvE content, but that isn’t the only place he can be used in.

Skills

His A1 attacks one enemy and transfers one debuff. It also steals one buff from them with a 75% chance. A2 places Increase Accuracy buff on the team then attacks all enemies and places Heal Reduction and Block Buffs debuffs on all enemies. His A3 heals all allies and places an Increase DEF and additionally Shield buffs on the team if 4 or more allies are alive. Pinthroy’s passive skill removes the Decrease DEF and Weaken debuffs from him at the beginning of his turn, and the aura Increases the accuracy of all allies by 50.

As you can see, the arsenal of buffs and debuffs he provides makes him a strong support.

Masteries

For maximum effectiveness in PvE, he will need the Warmaster T6 talent of the offensive branch for more damage on Bosses. The second branch is Support, as we need masteries for increasing healing and Shield buff. Lay on Hand and Shieldbarer masteries are chosen as well as Lasting Gifts and Master Hexer to extend the duration of buffs and debuffs.

It is worth noting that if you use Archbishop on a Сlan Boss, you should avoid masteries that increase TM and skill refresh if you use him in strict speed tune teams such as Unkillable and Counterattack versions.

Gear & Stats Build

Gear in our case can be absolutely any set as long as he has good enough stats. In early and midgame he could benefit from Lifesteal for extra survivability, but in late game+ setting it’s not strictly required. The best choice for Hydra would be Relentless set to apply buffs and debuffs more often or Protection set to take some of the damage, as it has high base stats HP and DEF. If you don’t have such sets as in this showcase case we use 3 different sets: Speed, Immortal, Perception to achieve the required stats.

The main stat is Accuracy at around 300+. If accuracy is lacking, it can also be okay taking into account the Increase Accuracy buff and the aura, but depends on the content you’re looking to tackle. Speed is the second main parameter, 251+ is enough for our purposes. The remaining stats should be directed to HP and DEF, and offense should be neglected, as well as Resistance.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves – HP%/DEF%
  • Chest – HP%/DEF% or ACC if you can’t reach enough
  • Boots – Speed
  • Ring – HP/DEF
  • Amulet – HP/DEF
  • Banner – ACC

Refresh Accessories can be a great choice if you have them.

Hydra Team & Strategy

Hydra is quite demanding content, so each champion will have specific roles. For Archbishop Pinthroy, he keeps the Block Buffs debuff on the heads and DEF plus a Shield buff on the allies so that they stay alive for as long as possible.

Control the Def Up buff before heads make hard hits especially Wrath. You can use the healing to increase the level of team HP after the powerful blows of Hydra. If one of the heads has time to get a buff, especially damage reflection, we can steal it with A1. Here is an example of a team that, without any problems 1 keys Brutal Hydra:

  • Archbishop Pinthroy for Block Buffs debuffs, Increase DEF, ACC and Shield buffs plus healing.
  • Mithrala Lifebane for Increase DEF, Strengthen and Shield buffs plus cleansing and Hex debuff.
  • Lydia the Deathsiren for Decrease and Weaken dubuffs and Increase SPD and Strengthen buffs.
  • Inquisitor Shamael to boosting leader turn meter with combination of his and Head of Torment passive skills.
  • Husk in leader slot for max HP dps and provoking head of Decay.
  • Geomancer for max HP dps with his passive, Burn and Weaken debuffs.

Using Mithrala Lifebane can be replaced with a revive champion or another Support.

Iron Twins Team & Strategy

Archbishop Pinthroy is highly useful in the Iron Twins Fortress. One of the main obstacles of this dungeon is the high Resistance of the boss on the last floors. For stable debuffs landing, you need 555+ Accuracy, but thanks to the presence of an Increase ACC buff, this value drops to 370+, and if you can fit the Increase ACC aura, then it drops p to 300. Adding team’s healing and Increase DEF as well as Shield buffs, we get an excellent support. With Twins on the highest level 15 the featured team has:

  1. Archbishop Pinthroy for Increase ACC, DEF, Shield buffs and healing.
  2. Godseeker Aniri for healing and revive.
  3. Lord Champfort for Decrease SPD, ATK debuffs.
  4. Geomancer for max HP dps with his passive, burn and Weaken.
  5. Doompriest for cleansing debuffs and healing.

In this case Doompriest was replaced with Skytouched Shaman for debuffs cleanse and healing.

Dungeon Run Team & Strategy

Dragon 25

In the Dragon’s Lair dungeon Archbishop Pinthroy is also useful. Depending on your roster, there are two strategies to consider:

  1. A team to quickly clear the waves with Seer, where Archbishop Pinthroy helps with his numberous buffs and, if necessary, with an aura.
  2. Slow-paced but safe with the help of any useful champions in your collection. In this case, Archbishop Pinthroy will help with both buffs and debuffs, as well as healing.

We will take a closer look at a second variant, here is an example of a team that run the 25th floor without problems:

  1. Archbishop Pinthroy for useful buffs and debuffs plus healing.
  2. Stag Knight for Decrease DEF and ATK.
  3. Broadmaw for Increase SPD buff and revive.
  4. Magnarr for dps.
  5. Armiger for fast boss killing with MAX HP dps.

Fire Knight 25

There is no place for Archbishop Pinthroy in fast teams for clearing high floors of Fire Knight’s Castle dungeon. However, he can be of help if you don’t have a fast team. His buffs and debuffs, as well as healing, perfectly save your team from the waves. In this example, we will protect Alure to comfortably beat the 25th floor boss on a budget:

  1. Archbishop Pinthroy for useful buffs, dubuffs and healing.
  2. Stag Knight for Decrease DEF and ATK.
  3. Hoforees the Tusked for revive and useful buffs.
  4. Tayrel for dps and some turn meter reduce.
  5. Alure for reduce boss turn meter.

Ice Golem 20 & 25

The Ice Golem is the most unpredictable boss due to how hard it Counterattacks after reaching certain HP thresholds. Significant damage on the last floors, from which the Archbishop Pinthroy can’t save the team makes it impractical to try to pass it without having good champions.

However, you can consider the option of quick runs using Seer. The tactic is to quickly pass the enemies on the waves, and on the boss itself, the champion with AOE Poisons debuffs will end the battle solo, while it is desirable that the whole team die to reduce the run time. In this case, we are only interested in the Archbishop Pinthroy for his buffs and aura. Here is an example composition for Ice Golem 25:

  1. Archbishop Pinthroy for buffs.
  2. Bad-el-Kazar for buffs and AOE Poison debuffs.
  3. Warmaiden for Decrease DEF debuff.
  4. Seer for dps.
  5. Renegade for decreasing the cooldown of ally skills.

If you are not interested in the 25th floor yet, and your goal is to defeat the boss at least at level 20, then with Archbishop Pinthroy this is not a difficult task. Healing and Shield buff keep the team’s HP high. Here is an example composition for Ice Golem 20 with budget champions:

  1. Tayrel for AOE Decrease DEF + Decrease АТК debuffs and dps.
  2. Archbishop Pinthroy for useful buffs and debuffs plus healing.
  3. Stag Knight AOE Decrease DEF and ATK debuffs.
  4. Broadmaw for revive an useful buffs.
  5. Frozen Banshee to quickly kill the Golem with Poisons.

Faction Wars Team & Strategy

In Faction Wars, Archbishop Pinthroy does a great job. His increase DEF, Shield buff and healing, as well as debuffs can be used on all floors, and his aura also works on this location. Overall, it’s safe to say that he is one of the best Supports in the faction. Here is an example of a team that made it to level 21:

  1. Abbess for dps.
  2. Archbishop Pinthroy for useful buffs, debuffs and healing.
  3. Deacon Armstrong for Decrease DEF debuff and tm manipulation.
  4. Godseeker Aniri to revive and healing.
  5. Venus for Decrease DEF, Weaken and Poison debuffs to kill boss faster.

Doom Tower Secret Rooms

Archbishop Pinthroy will not be used in many Secret Rooms of the Doom Tower, since he is a Support champion with Spirit affinity, but this is what makes him so useful. There are few rooms with such conditions so he can be instrumental there.

  1. Frost Spider:
  2. Normal: SR №6 Spirit affinity champions, SR №11 the Sacred Order Champions;
  3. Hard: SR №6 Support champions;
  4. Iragoth Eternal Dragon:
  5. Normal: SR №10 Support champions;
  6. Dark Fae:
  7. Normal: SR №3 Spirit affinity champions, SR №4 Telerians, SR №10 Support champions, SR №11 6 rank champions;
